Pfft. I can’t even remember what that was.
Strong is strong. Mad respect for the numbers, man.
Plus, you’re jamming with goddammed Tosin Abasi. You need to post in the “T-Nation Guitar Players” thread.
I’m interested in learning more about your periodization training.
Great job on the meet. Wiht this new motivation you will be slaying your next one. (not that you didnt have any or kill it this last time)
When you ran the conan/phillipi for deads and front squats at the same time did you do anything for bench? Do you think it would be better to do smolov and conan combo? SOrry for these newb powerlifting ?'s i am not even a bit versed in PLing but getting interested in moving my numbers up fast. I am willing to basically destroy my body my willpower will carry me through

I also did Conan’s Bench Routine as well. I would NOT do Smolov and Conan together. If you were to run the Front Squats, I would only do the the Conan/Phillipi Deadlift Perfectages for your Front Squat and not do any additional assistance work, save for Abs.

Might have to try this. Sounds like fun…So would or didnt do any othe upper body assistance work for bench upper back or back width type stuff (pull ups pull downs ect)

The Deadlift Day has all the upper back work you need. I’m not a bber so I don’t care about Back Width, my back is more all rhomboids and spinal erectors and not lat hahaha
Shit you are too fast.Never mind i see the conan program has some stuff built in for back. SO i will move to a different ? did you do your squat and DL on the same day or differnt day? And what days did you bench?

I took time off from Back Squatting when I did this.
Monday - Deadlift
Wednesday - Heavy Bench
Thursday - Military Press
Friday - Front Squat
Saturday - Light Bench

Sorry for so much De rail here. Should i just PM you?
This sorta how i was starting to organize things now that i have seen the program. I alreay do a squat day and dead lift day. And funny thing is my DL day looks simialr in nasty brutal volume to this.
un derail Whats your next training cycle looking like

I am assuming 600ish squat 370ish bench and 700+ DL from what he posts on his log (from a diff site)
Its crazy to me sometimes that someone can have such good squat and DL numbers but their bench is just average. 370 is still a good bench but so easily obtainable with focus IMO. Still good shit.

It’s not derailing, a few posters here like the fact that my log is a valuable resource for information. I like to kept that way alongside of keeping track of my training online. It what draw more views, hits, and of course feedback from you guys.

Yeah, I’ve seen some of his videos, very impressive guy. Although switching from using the Monolift and wraps, to walking out squats and only neoprene sleeves is different. When I hit my 1525 total, it was with the monolift and that took a while to adjust to (I’d argue I haven’t adjusted yet since I haven’t beaten my own total since that meet ) Hopefully the USAPL judging doesn’t screw him over because it’s by far the hardest Fed to get a good total in.
Although, the hardest thing about competing in the USAPL is the Eleiko Power Bars that they use. You use the same bar for all three lifts, and although it’s a decent bar for squats and benching, there is NO slack to speak of for pulling. It’s probably the number one reason why my deadlift sucks at meets now ololololol
But, my buddy Lauren just bought one for his personal use and I’m allowed to train with it so hopefully getting use to the bar all the time now will get my Deadlift back up and ready for meets.

Well as long as you dont mind. What did you do for your front squat assistance? And you said you ran with the percentages from the conan program for it?

The only Front Squat Assistance I did was ab work as I felt the total volume from the Deadlift day was enough. I feel doing more than that was overkill.
That’s how I got my 600 Deadlift (Beltless) and 405 Front Squat (Beltless and Paused).

Yep I remeber that from the last page conversation. Well i will certainly be running the conan for my DL day. For squat day i dunno if i can go that low of volume considering the weight i would use for front squat would be pretty small. So i might have to do some assistance for quads with it. It would be a huge drop in leg volume for me.

Less is more, and even if you were back squatting during the deadlift time, you’re suppose to put Squat on maintenance , the way I manage the overall tonnage and volume was to go low volume and bringing up my Front Squat, killing two birds with one stone.
What’s more important, bringing your Deadlift up and bringing up both lifts up at the same time? If the latter, I wouldn’t do a Deadlift Specialization routine.
405 front squat paused AND beltless = RESPECT.

The dude’s built to pull. Nuff said.
Deta can you post a vid of you benching soon, including set up.
I have been switching over to flat footed benching, as is required by USAPL, however I find my arch has diminished from it, would like to see someone used to the styles set up.
