What are your thoughts on upper back/lat work as it relates to PLing?

I like the Wendler approach to assistance work. I like to do more with less, so I prefer to train my assistance work with volume, Rep/Set schemes like 5x10 or 5x15 with 1-3 exercises gets the job done for me. Thatâ??s training economy, a very good thing; better results with less time in the weight room. When evaluating whether an assistance lift has a place in your program, it helps to consider that assistance lifts are intended to accomplish a few specific goals:
-
Prevent strength imbalances.
-
Build muscle.
-
Strengthen weak areas.
I like Chest Supported Rows and Facepulls personally, but it doesn’t matter as long as your consistent.
Waddup Carlos, I know you’re big on perfecting form and technique so I thought you might find this article by Judd Biasiotto interesting: http://www.drjudd.net/index.php?main_page=page&id=5
Dude squatted over 600 at 130lbs.

Haha, I see that you found another one of my influences. My gym owner Murph told me about Biasiotto a few years back. A brilliant lifter.
This may be the muscle dysmorphia talking, but I can relate to Biasiotto because I don’t think I was ever naturally strong. If you looked at me from a physique standpoint, most people wouldn’t think I’m able to lift the weights that I can. I tell my guys that it’s my technical proficiency, not my (lack of) muscles that make me strong.
I don’t think you look weak Brown Bear

Ha, it figures that since I’m some years behind your lifting progress I’d be some years behind your lifting knowledge too.
You are jacked though and you know it, stop being so modest. Those gullible teens don’t drape themselves off your arms because they look like pipe-cleaners.

Hahaha, I appreciate the compliment man, but when Bug leaves like 10-15min away from me, I think of him being all about the pretty boy jack3d swag.
I do what I can.
