That’s why we call it “practicing medicine”. Stuff we thought we knew is constantly changing. Any of us with kids can definitely attest to the placebo effect. Not to mention the recent report that nearly all supplements / vitamins out there do practically nothing. Just give me protein and test.

Wasn’t it more that they do nothing because we already have them in sufficient number and thus we don’t need anymore? It’s basically science refuting the idea that “more is better”, at least for vitamins.
However, if your blood test clearly shows you deficient in vit. D, then taking some will help.
