The Philosophy of Liberty

This is where I stopped reading, and unfortunately taking the post serious.

America is not a democracy. Without that basic, fundamental understanding any discussion of civics, real or philosophical, is a waste of time and energy.

I like how HE infers that skin color dictates political though process, and then infers you are racist for not fitting into his own prejudices.

Priceless. Such a predictable (yet failure of a) bully tactic.

What is liberty, first?

Is it freedom from a government?

Is it freedom from starvation?

Is it freedom from misery/death?

Is it liberated sexual urges?

I don’t see how this thread can ever be answered when there is entirely two (three, really) different views of freedom. Both of which, are campaigned for.

  1. Freedom from a governing body. Willing to accept the consequences of life. Even in the face of starvation, lack of medical care, lack of shelter, inability to afford education at any level, single parenthood (again; starvation, lack of medical care, etc.), inability to meet basic needs in old age, etc.

  2. Freedom from nature. Pregnancy, starvation, disease, the elements (shelter), the diminishing self reliance of old age, caring for a child alone, etc.

Starvation, disease, children, shelter, and the wasting of old age are big motivators. Especially in an individualistic, self-expressive, culture. If the basics aren’t covered, how does one get on with their self-expression?!

The banter between you and I goes back. I’m not the bully here, remember? Why not stick to the thread Chump?

Dude, you just inferred rather directly that skin color dictates political thought process, not anyone else. You did.

Then you went on to infer that someone else was a racist because they didn’t fit into that bigoted racist mindset. No one else did this, you did.

So in short, you tried to bully Cush into silence (or defending himself from false charges). By making up bullshit based on your own prejudices. No one else did this, you did.

Been trying to point the same thing out. In order to understand liberty the state of nature must be understood. Without human beings having a state of nature resources the promise of liberty slowly slips as opportunity wanes under capitalism, via lack of opportunity for both haves and have nots. Opportunity is something I’ve been claiming is ones ability to climb the socio economic ladder, as well as maintain ones profits. If there isn’t room for both, or all the resources from the state of nature are taken there is no chance for liberty the way it was originally drawn up. Liberty as a concept is based off of resources, ownership of resources as well as trade if you want to go back to John Locke.

Dude, he used his supposed friendship with non white people to justify himself in previous posts, or start with the insults. I tried to be friends with this toolbox and he’s gone out of his way to be snarky the whole time. Maybe you need to think a little more before you type.

I missed this bastion of intellectual conversation the first time around.

You aren’t worth taking serious and investing any amount of time in for various reasons. One I pointed out just above here, and the others involve you making up things in an argument with Push…

You miss a lot of things man.

This doesn’t change the fact you think skin color dictates political thought, nor does it change that you said as much.

Your own advices… Take them. -Arnold

This, right here, Beans.

His feelings got hurt when I pointed out how he was giving sophomoric counseling advice to EmilyQ (a trained therapist) in her thread about her experiences with men, so out of the blue he takes his oh-so-very-adolescent “Fooshin” shot at me here. Make no mistake; he’s the one who started this.

And now he’s flailing around trying to make some bullshit racist attack stick. Yeah, that’s me alright, racist to the bone. LOL.

He’s a little boy throwing a temper tantrum over his hurt feelings. As you say, not worth taking seriously.[/quote]

Given what I know from our interactions and some of our common ground, I gotta admit I’ve been getting a good laugh out of this whole episode. Hopefully with you, definitely not at you.

Oh, for sure, my friend.

Though I do genuinely feel a bit bad for him.

BTW, I’ll be home mid-Feb; let’s definitely connect!

Sounds good!

Hows your ice skating? (my cousin just snapped that)

The back and forths between you and I got personal a while back. You are the one who dragged b.s. that started on PWI to the get a life forum with EmilyQ who seems to be a nice enough lady. Did you ever take the time to ask yourself why a person with mastery in relationships would ask sophomoric questions about relationships that she already knows about to a bunch of meatheads and jocks? You are a bit too dim to realize I saw right through it and was giving her what she wanted, maybe you have a problem with that aspect in your life? But once again you singled me out by pointing out I was giving her what she wanted lol. She’s an intriguing lady, she’s interesting to all of us, have you gathered that yet?

You are the one who has instigated crap between the two of us from the start. You have childish ways in that you seem to enjoy instigation behind a keyboard. Are you like this in competition? I think I know exactly the sort you are. Then Beans, calling me a racist bully for calling you out on your b.s. which, lets be honest is fucking hilarious. Read the thread, see the with responses to Kareem and see who the bullies are, see the truth the pudding… Watch the bullies get their panties bunched and start bitching about me being a bully lol. Well Samurai boy, am I bullying you? Do you need beans to protect you? I’m in this by myself, and likely one of the few non whites that venture this forum. I get plenty of shit talked to me, but I’m the bully now right? Lol

So, you grew up with all your black friends from the ghetto and use that as an example of your worldliness along with your fake ass namesake. You deny white privilege while living in Japan and acknowledging people double take at you because you are white, and likely exotic to them. You also acknowledge that due to Japanese culture being shaped in such a way that there is a certain amount of dogma with them about being a homogenous race that causes them to be racist towards other Asians, homogenous superior nationalism was the MO of Japan during WW2 and is present today. Well, this should be pretty good evidence that white privilege exists in Japan, but you flipped out when I brought it up, which is how I pinned you as a willingly ignorant.

So, carry on instigator/ great white noble samurai. If I’m a kid it’s in heart and fight.
