UtahLame, my posts are uninformed? How so? Quote me on my uninformed posts. How do you even know my posts, I don’t post here all that often. In fact, I’ve never even seen you on the boards. On the topic of quoting, I quote myself: “The only things I’d consider acceptable for you to take are Flameout and ZMA, and I’d steer clear of ZMA unless you have a zinc/magnesium deficiency or you have trouble sleeping.” I know what ZMA does for sleep. I also know if you’re sleeping 8 hours or so of deep sleep a day, you don’t need ZMA. Finally, pink shirt doush? What’s a doush? And how do you know I wear pink shirts? I made an assumption based on real life observations, ie, I assumed GS9 was taking all these supplements because like many I know who take that many, they think it’s an easy road to getting big.[/quote]
I’m not defending anybody here, but I’d like to clear things up so we can stop arguing and talk about Biotest supps. So first, gorilla, and probably Utah, looked at your pictures you posted, and made assumptions based on them. However, to be fair to them, you do look extremely skinny and you are wearing a pink shirt in your pics. Second, you don’t post much? Then T-Nation made a gross error when they listed you as having made 827 posts.
Finally, ZMA is good for any athlete, even if theyre not having trouble sleeping. The actual research done on supplementing with zinc and magnesium aspartate was done on a minor league college football team who didn’t seem to have any noticeable effects from these deficiencies. However, supplementing with additional ZMA improved their recovery, they slept deeper, and their test levels also improved. So any athlete would be wise to take ZMA, especially since its one of the cheaper, effective supps.
Also, you think creatine and whey protein are not good for younger people? I think the basics, a good multi, creatine, ZMA, and whey protein would be good for anyone to take, regardless of age. Especially for college students who usually are done growing and can experiment a little more. And while I don’t think like this, what’s wrong with trying to get bigger faster, or making it a little easier to see results?
I think the bigger issue is helping people exercise, eat right, and stay healthy. If they require outside motivation, i.e. supps, than why shouldn’t they take them, if they can afford them and there’s no reason to think it would harm them? Of course if the person is ridiculously young, i.e. hasn’t entered puberty yet, then maybe something a little different is in order.
But, if they’re that young, than their training should also be modified to bodyweight only exercises. In any case, let’s get back to the original topic, which is discussing Biotest supps.
