Joe, what numbers are you looking to hit at your meet?

My last three attempts are probably going to look like a 425-435/365-270/435-445 range.
Okay, I have been gone for a while. Looking at your planned 3rds, though, am I correct in thinking your squats have jumped up? Everything looks to be moving, but the squats jumped out at me for some reason.
Either way, nice work!

Strick, I had a nice run on my squats and then I ran a Smolov cycle as well.
Good numbers and goals.
Your smokin it Joe,keep it up man.
Hope the cold goes away fast. The body may be giving you a little sign, make sure to listen ![]()
Your mental strength is on point!
You’ve made amazing progress on the squats in particular, and on dominating the weights in general.
Good work!
Here’s another vote for the foam rolling and pre-hab. I believe its helped me to be forced to foam roll and then do mobility exercises before squatting and pulling. And I was a doubter. Maybe if you incorporated this, it would give the last bump into super-awesomeness!

Well I got distracted and took too much Hot Roxx and I was running around like a spastic weasel and yet somehow still felt very weak. What a trainwreck.

Did not hit reps(6) on any of my working sets. This cold will just not go away and I can’t breath after the third or fourth rep. I’m just beat as well so I’m going to be adjusting my programing a bit to give me a bit of a break. My gym is closed from may 12-15 so that will act as a involuntariy deload which I probably need.
This had best be an aberation.

Great description! I am the same. Too much caffeine and I am amped, jittery and feel weak as hell. I think the overampedness burns up a portion of the fuel as soon as it gets in your muscles…before you can use it to lift.
I haven’t been around to follow your training. BUT, you had done 50 reps of deads, half of them at over 300#, before trying the 385#. Is it common for you to do that many reps before going that heavy?
Most folks would have been blasted by then.

I think I’ve got a pinched nerve in my low back so I’m going tostart preping for my openers and work on depth, leg drive etc.
Strong work Joe. You’ve been training like an animal. Hope you’ve been eating tons and sleeping a lot.
that was a big load of DL’s up there, especially when not feeling 100%, Nats are right around the corner
Hey DevilDog, looks like your training is going well. Squat numbers are looking nothing short of AWESOME. I guess the evil russians did something for you!

yep, they are getting close regardless of if I’m ready or not.
