Get you some of those plastic kids weights off Amazon - my nearly-3-yo loves “doing workouts” with Dad.

Finished with run/walk for 20min. Focus was on breathing through nose, so heartrate maxed at 160 but managed pace to allow nose breathing
Phew! What a busy couple of weeks. Packed up the house and got it ready for sale, handed over job and jumped in the car to travel the short 2500km to SA. Here’s some photos of the trip. First stop was Wave Rock
Wow we live in a beautiful country!
Am thinking about getting a home gym in the new place. Any Aussies know of a good place to get a power rack/weights/bar/bench combo?
Happy Easter!
@wiseman83 trains at home, not sure what set up he is using.
You are probably going to want to find somewhere local because shipping in Aus is pretty exy. You may find if you keep an eye on FB marketplace you can pick up a good second hand set up. Plenty of people trained at home during covid and now are selling equipment.
Thanks Simo was going to check fb marketplace too
Where are you based big fella?
My rack was a marketplace special, it’s home made ..and was 50 bucks. Borrowed dad’s Ute and went and got it haha. Been standing in my garage for 10 years.
My bars and plates is all muscle motion stuff via Gym Direct, except I scored an ABC Power Bar from a gym that closed down.
Horse stall matting for the floor. Built my own toaster rack for plate storage, and scored a deadlifting platform for free, from an old gym. Incidentally, I helped build this platform when said gym existed! So I had to have it.
I also built some adjustable blocks for block pulls.
But long story short, I can’t recommend the home gym route enough. Lay down a couple grand, set for life. Only think i don’t currently have, that id recommend, is a lat pulldown/cable setup of some kind for the Rack. Can be home made from bunno’s gear without issue, and cheaply. I just haven’t gotten around to it.
Awesome stuff, I think I will just go down the store bought route after seeing what’s available on marketplace. I have just moved to Adelaide so I don’t know anyone down here but there seems to be some reasonably priced gear online. I had a home gym years ago when the kids were young so I am pretty comfortable with training alone I just need to get it setup and use it now. Back then I was following John Bros and training twice a day and got up to 100 on the snatch and 130 C&J but I fear those days are long gone!
Those are some pretty crazy numbers mate.
If I was you…I’d get back into that style of training. Maybe not the two a days . But weightlifting in general.
Even cheaper to set that up IMO.
@raven78 @kleinhound both SA boys I believe. They may know any good stores or clearance centers. If not get on FB marketplace like you said.
I just got a pretty good deal on a treadmill from fitness warehouse parafield (not too far from CBD).
They had a big sale on at the time so not sure if it’s still going but they had a bunch of racks and plates and barbells on display so might be able to hook you up
