It seems that one of us is misunderstanding the other. We seem to be carrying on completely different conversations. I’m just saying that it’s obvious Trump either merely misspoke when he made the comment regarding Mexican rapists, or he said other things that are more concerning than a belief that all Mexican immigrants are rapists. That comment is a total non-issue either way, and the fact that it’s brought up so often is ridiculous.

When it comes your describtion of Bernies supporters you are way off. They are not people who just want free stuff, they are people who want America to be a more decent society. I know not very macho, but fuck macho. I discuss daily With Bernie supporters on facebook and never have I seen anyone write; “I support Bernie because I want free stuff”. Rather what I see is more akin to: “I support Bernie, because he is the only candidate with a vision for America and who is not corrupted.”

But take away the Bernie giveaway programs and his campaign would suddenly drop like a balloon that has been burst. Why do you think a hunched over balding old many appeals to people in their 20’s? Only one reason florelius, $ Cha Ching. He’s promised them free College, free health care, and probably plenty of other free things. And…they like that. They don’t know where this “free stuff” is coming from and they don’t care. Whereas people who actually have a job and know that those free things would be coming out of their pockets are mostly not Bernie supporters. Socialism only works to the point where the government can steal money from hard working people and give it to those who did not earn it and don’t deserve it. Once there are not enough people to take money from Socialism fails (it fails for other reasons as well).
As for his vision for America it is one of dependency on government. Now how did America become great? Start by looking back on our ancestors. The ones that came to America, the ones that blazed the Oregon trail. The ones who immigrated LEGALLY to this country to become entrepreneurs, doctors, lawyers and stalwart citizens. Who GAVE them a free ride? NO ONE! Sure not everyone succeeded but that is capitalism isn’t it? No guarantees but plenty of opportunity if someone wants to work hard and smart. Obama has taken a good deal of that spirit away if Bernie were to become President he would finish the job.

Finally, I understand that he is getting some of his support from people who just cannot stand Hillary Clinton. I hear that loud and clear. Nor is everyone crossing the border being sent from Mexico, they also come from other countries and come on their own volition.
He did say they’re rapist, and he says a majority are bringing drugs and crime. That is not true.
Completely agree about immigrants coming from other countries, which Trump has said nothing about. I know he flip flopped on H1B visa issue and showed a lack of understanding of how it works (not sure where he ended up)… he claims to be “the strongest” on immigration, but has not mentioned anything about major elements of the immigration issue.
And yet Trump said “some are good people”.
So he is not saying that everyone is a rapist or drug dealer.
What am I not seeing here?
He said “They’re rapists”. As in, they are rapists. And some (some of the rapists) are good people.
That is how the sentence reads. Even if you ignore that, and have it as only some are not rapists, it is still completely void of what is factual about immigrants.

Wrong. I copied and pasted the entire quote, and never does “the majority of them are bringing drugs and crime” or any derivative of it show up.
The word ‘majority’ doesn’t even show up in the quote at all.
This quote is being perceived in terms of absolutes, meaning that some are interpreting the quote to mean that the people coming here are solely rapists and solely bringing crime. But Trump using the word 'some" shows he is not speaking in absolutes.
