The Next President of the United States: III

Say what you want about Sanders, but he might be the last honest top-tier candidate remaining. His ideas aren’t realistic, and he is an ideologue who belongs to different era subscribing to philosophy proven to fail. But at least you know where he stands.

Not so with Clinton, Trump, or Cruz.

Translation “I am smart Zeb, you are not.”

You shouldn’t be ideologically consistent if it means defending someone you disagree with?

YES!! the desk warrior emerges!! Congrats on your extensive book learning, which makes you an expert in “security studies”. You should have quite a career in a think tank, second guessing people who are actually putting rubber to road.

I am speaking of wars…where the line between good and evil, is the distance of a bayonet.

My grandfather and Great Uncles served in Korea and Vietnam, two Captains, a Major and a Lt. Col…My grandfather also served in WWII. They sat and told me stories when I was young, telling me the unvarnished truth about winning and losing. What they had to do to survive and keep the guy next to them alive…it was pretty scary stuff.

But I’m sure your “extensive studies” would make it REAL easy to determine how a conflict is won or lost. You are the absolute prototypical 30,000 foot Monday Morning QB.

Tell me Biz, have you ever had family in combat? Ever heard their stories about how fucked up combat is at the boot level? Turning millions of men into hamburger to win a war is not done without the absolute willingness to win that war, and if you don’t think that every dirty trick in the book was used to get the fuck home alive…then you have never talked to a vet who survived 3 fucking wars.

Go back to your think tank.

Sloth,

I want to quote something you posted in an above post that needs clarification, because what was written was not how I heard it.

You quoted…

“The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems. [Applause] Thank you. It’s true, and these are the best and the finest. When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

How “they’re rapists” was written sounded to me more like “their rapists,” meaning the rapists Mexico has which are being sent here. This falls in line with Trump stating that some illegals are criminals while some are good people. If you actually listen to him saying it, rather than the transcript of it, it makes perfect sense.

I believe it was Trump’s camp who published the transcript of “they’re”. If they are saying it that way, I think it is more than fair to assume that’s what he meant.

If that’s the case then I guess Trump did mean it that way.

Sloth,

You never disappoint. If there is a comparison of candidates and Trump is one of them you will most certainly spend paragraph after paragraph telling us how bad Trump is compared to candidate X. Yes…of course Trump is far worse than Socialism. Ha ha …WOW!

Hi Zeb 1. Yes I am doing fine, what about you?
Great my friend!

Please quote the racist rhetoric and be specific. Thanks.

Trump Attracts racist because HE is a racists? I do not see that connection. People will see whatever they want to in a candidate. Bernie’s supporters are at least in part naïve 18-30 year olds who feel that the are owed something. I don’t respect them anymore than I respect a racist who supports Trump.

But he does attract people who show up at Trump rallies because they want to start trouble? How many Trump or Cruz supporters show up at Bernie rallies to start trouble? As I said Bernie attracts those who feel they are owed a living from other people’s hard work. But that makes sense because that is what Socialism is (in part) all about. Bernie would be the last guy I would ever vote for. The man has never held down a real job in his life…much like Obama. And he has been a disaster for the past 7 years.
Its a difference and its obvious. And you are so smart it should be obvious to you and if I may say so, no genuin conservative in the tradition of Edmund Burke, Adam Smith, John Adams etc should feel compelled to defend Trump or his supporters right wing populism, since they are not the same.

You have probably not read much of this thread so I will bring you up to date quickly on who I support. Never, not one time, have I supported Trump over any other republican candidate. My first pick was Rubio. Now that he is gone I support Ted Cruz. But, I would be for virtually any republican over Trump. But never ever would I vote for Bernie the Socialist. I’ve read enough history to know where Socialism leads. One more point, if by some miracle Bernie became President I will sell my various business interests. I am not going to pay 55% federal income taxes in addition to state and local taxes. Who in their right mind will pay up to 70% in total taxes? Certainly not me and there are many entrepreneurs who feel as I do. I’m glad the DNC has put the fix in for Hillary and Bernie has no chance he would be a complete disaster for our economy and no doubt in every other way.

You didn’t want to know he had said the opposite?

I could hardly care less about Trump(or any other candidate for that matter), but the whining about that statement he made is ridiculous.

If we’re going to critique every word(and I’m not directing this towards you, Maximus), let’s criticize him for saying, “and they’re bringing those problems with us.” What does that mean? THEY’RE bringing those problems WITH US? Was he talking about the continent shifting or something?

OR let’s criticize him for stating that some people who are bringing drugs, are criminals, AND are rapists are good people. Keep in mind that he said that all Mexican immigrants are bringing drugs, crime, and are rapists.

Hell, let’s criticize him for being ignorant of the fact that women can’t commit rape. It’s incredible that this guy is running for President of the United States(or at least the Republican Party nomination) and doesn’t even know that there are female immigrants coming to the U.S. from Mexico. And, since he was obviously saying that all Mexican immigrants are rapists, he MUST be totally unaware of the fact that some Mexican women are coming here.

He’s obviously a Mexican. Has anyone seen his birth certificate?

Edited: Had to fix my own damn joke… Very tired.

I’d say its quite suspicious we haven’t. Must be hiding something.

Yes! Outstanding point. Edit: my “Yes” was to indicate my agreement, not to indicate that I have seen his birth certificate.

Interesting:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2016/03/28/michael_savage_cruz_sex_scandal_is_disgusting_i_might_not_support_trump.html

For the record, I’ve heard of Savage but don’t follow him at all.

I will say that Roger Stone, who is carrying Trump’s mail on this issue, makes me want to puke whenever I look at him and his persona. Stone is such a hack that apparently the TV networks have crossed him off their list of guests (the million strong list of “experts”, “strategists”, blah, blah).

It’s not suspicious. He basically told everyone that he is a Mexican, and therefore guilty of bringing drugs and crime into the United States while raping every woman here.

Sounds like we have enough justification to go after his family.

Just a second Nick, let’s look at what he said exactly.

“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”

The last sentence alone shows he is not suggesting all Mexicans are rapists, drug runners, and criminals.

I wish that were true, Max, but it seems just as likely that he is saying that some drug runners, criminals and rapists are good people.

*You may not have sensed that my post was dripping with sarcasm; I was just pointing out that he either obviously just misspoke numerous times, or the supposed claim that all Mexican immigrants are rapists is probably not the most concerning thing that he said.

Not sure why people parse over the words of someone who changes/denies/deflects/etc what he says or thinks he said from minute to minute.

No Nick, the difference you are missing is, drug runners and rapists from America cannot be removed, while drug runners and rapists from Mexico can be removed back to Mexico.

Go to another country illegally, even if you follow all other laws otherwise, tell me how it works out for you. Make sure to cry racism and xenophobia, you will hear nothing but the sounds of officer laughter as they close the door to your cell.
