Didn’t see that one coming, maybe didn’t have enough money to continue? He was the front runner before the summer of Trump. I thought he was going to try and hang around until the Trump noise was over.[/quote]
This is an important point.
Bush has a huge War Chest so that he can last a lot longer…but only as long as the PACS and other donors keep shuttling him money.
Another point. While Bush did well in the debate; it just didn’t have the effect of moving him up in the Polls.
How long he last is a story in and of itself.

I agree with your assessment Mufasa. Bush is not resonating with the GOP voters I’m very happy to say. But, let’s give just a bit of this credit to Donald Trump for calling Jeb Bush “a low energy guy” (among other things). I think that stuck. As I said when Trump mania began that it was good for the party. More viewers watching the debates, more general interest. The bonus was Trump harming the Bush campaign. And in the end Trump will not be the nominee, but he will have garnered a lot of attention for the eventual nominee and not just from republicans.

Wrong thread.

Mr. Anti-PC Donald Trump wants the FCC to fine Rich Lowry for saying “balls” on Fox last night.

Yea, well I was sitting there with my 10 year old niece and other family members and I really, really didn’t appreciate that idiot talking about how Fiorina is cutting off Trump’s balls!
Are you telling me he could not have gotten his point across another way?
This was dinner time for heaven sakes.

Well, you are certainly entitled to your opinion; however, I seriously hope you of all people don’t support an FCC fine over such a non-issue.
Your 10 year old niece hears far worse things every single day at her school, on TV, etc…
Sure he could of, but that’s beside the point.
FWIW it was past 9 o’clock on the east coast.

Look this has nothing to do with being PC. It is bad enough that not only TV Shows but even commercials can be racy.
Whether or not my niece hears this stuff in school is not the point. She is not sitting next to me looking at me and waiting for me to explain what’s going on. Granted I come from a different generation. One that had restrictions on what people said on TV (and a hell of a lot more class). It was a less profane time. Our society has been “pornified” I get it. But, when I’m watching a news program (read news, not entertainment) and trying to teach my nieces and nephews about politics I really resent some moron talking about cutting someone’s balls off. Especially when that could have been described better in other ways.
If I want risqué language it can be easily accessed. THIS WAS FOX NEWS!!
No I don’t want the guy fined I’d like to see him banned for a few months. Use that language other places.
It’s not what he said it’s where and when he said it.
There is a time and place for everything. Certainly there is one kind of language that you use in Church and another in the locker room.
Where is the discretion?
Let’s look at the opposing view. Saying anything is fine at any time regardless of who the audience is.
Does that suit you?

That’s just how the free market works my man, I know you know this. There shouldn’t be a limit on free speech based on the medium of delivery. Of course this has to do with PC, what he said hasn’t been considered risque in 30 years. T

And I see that restriction as an affront to the first amendment. You seem comfortable with that, which I find pretty crazy considering most of your posts here.

This has zero to do with “pornification.”
The Kelly files, much like other programs in the evening on Fox or as much about entertainment as they about the news. Lets not overstate what Kelly, O’Reilly, and Hannity do.

This right here is the type of attitude that has made Trump popular. You want to punish a guy for months because you don’t like 1 word in 1 sentence he uttered on cable TV. Come on man…

Well, I enjoy the Kelly File, but it’s more like a locker room than a church my man.
It was nothing…

*Edit: Consumer should decide not the FCC.
“Use that language other places” The guy said “balls” ZEB, come on…

Would it be just as big of a deal if the guy had said Trump was cutting off the balls of Bush?
Seems to me like Trump is upset he isn’t the shining star anymore. I’m hoping this is the beginning of the decline of Trump, but he is still the leader so we shall see.

I don’t care who the next President is, but you’re trying to teach children about POLITICS and are upset about someone using crude language?
“Millions of us are going to vote for one of these people to take from some and give to others, invade foreign lands and, in general, force us to do his will, but that kind of language is really uncalled for.” Is whatever was said really as obscene as that?
*Edit: I like you, Zeb, and I mean no offense; but I think it would be easier to explain the Houston 500 to a child than American politics.
“This is the fellow who will be referred to as ‘The Leader of the Free World,’ kids.” “Wowee, Unc! He must really be an exceptional human being!” “Well, not really, whippersnapper. Come to think of it, he’s more like a piece of trash floating in the waves.”

First of all congratulations to you!
Secondly, it is quite relevant.
Thirdly, the only reason that I asked that particular question is that I have found from similar previous debates right here on T Nation that young men who have not yet experienced fatherhood seem to be more condoning of bad behavior, whether it be on TV or elsewhere.
I don’t want to have this debate with you right now. What I’d like you to do is get back to me in 5 or 10 years and tell me how much you like grown men talking about testicles in front of your little girl.
This does not make you wrong so don’t get defensive. But, the old adage “walk a mile in my shoes” is applicable here. You have no more empathy for my point than I would for a woman having her period. Some things we just don’t fully understand unless it happens to us. Some things will never happen to us such as my previous example (and that’s good with me:)
But your life is about to be turned upside down with the new arrival and your views will change over time my friend.
All The Best with your new baby!

Coming from a young father, If you don’t want to hear obnoxious language, then don’t let them watch the Kelly File, Hannity, OReilly, or any of the other discussion show. The Kelly File is not news. It is a talk program based on the news. Shepard Smith, Neil Cavuto, or Americas Newsroom are more what you are looking for when you are trying to find the news.

Sounds good Zeb and for the record I was never condoning bad behavior (I don’t see this as bad behavior though). I am condone the government, via the FCC, violating the first amendment for the children’s sake. That doesn’t work for me.
Also, we’re having a boy so I expect there will be quite a bit of testicle talk over the next few years…

That is how I view these shows as well (only really like Kelly of the three).
The guy who calls everyone a loser has called women fat ugly pigs and spoke of them bleeding as well as made fun of a woman’s looks is upset about what someone said?
Honestly at first I felt like Trump was punking me. The guy who has probably had the least control and decency in his language is mad about what someone else said about him? Pot meet kettle.
I don’t like Lowry and disagree with the premise behind his comment, but he was spot on with the remark that Trump can diss it out but can’t take it.
