The New Sport of Fitness

On this line of thinking we should then make running from and fighting wild feral animals an actual activity of athletic ability and those that do not get eaten can claim victor to the title “fittest person alive”.

Of course I think this one was already done many times over by the Roman Empire lol

They do test crossfitters now…well atleast they test some of them. I know for the team events they made sure to pulicize that a couple people had tested positive and were the reason their teams were dq.

I think that Fronning guys is a beast though, I haven’t seen that video yet I dont have time right now but Ill be sure to watch it. I don’t know if all of them are on steroids and hgh but just like any sport I’m sure there are a few, or even more that are.

And to be completely honest, I don’t give 2 shits whether they are or not.

Also I was watching the crossfit games from this July and some of the workouts are intense, and I would say you need to have a bit of athleticism to not just compete but do well. But that’s jut like anything that involves weights right?

I did a PL meet once before for fun and will definitely do another some time, but I wouldn’t say I’m a PLer.
Definitely not a BBer since I have no desire to compete in a bodybuilding competition.

I just really enjoy lifting weights, not looking like crap, feeling good and being decently strong and athletic… So whatever that classifies me as? lol
A man

Having been in this state (not on Tate’s or other pro PLers’ level) I can say this is definitely true. When you squat big but get winded tying your shoes, you are not fit. Strong, yes. Fit, no.
Exactly. If you get winded walking up two or three flights of stairs your not physically fit.

Also, your back is lookin good man. Real thick.
Just from curiosity, what do you classify yourself as Greg? A bodybuilder? Powerlifter? Gym rat?
Lol fair enough. I dare say I think you’re a bit like me…Like the asthetics that bodybuilding training can give, but you don’t stop at just that do you? You crave some sort of athletic performance…am I right? That’s why I enjoy Martial arts and Martial arts training. My goal is to hit 220 at 6’0ft…I’m 8lbs away…but I might just forgo it for a while so I can give xfit a try. Maybe. IDK still on the fence. Right now I do an Xfit type workout Once a week for varied cardio. As long as I can see six abs i’m happy.

A UK fighter trys xfit. Liverpool has the best xfit logo I’ve seen yet at least…lol

I never had a problem with CF. With the condition the country is in, I think its great to get people off the couch and in the gym. But every year they become more and more arrogant and thats really rubbing me the wrong way. They dont stand a chance against a seasoned powerlifter, strongman, Olympic lifter or mma in their respective field.

Who gives a fuck? Just do what you like to do.

Well it certainly isn’t all about running. The clean ladder is super hard! But, Impressive! Yeah strongmen or powerlifters/olympic lifters would probably kill this event but It impresses me that these guys can still clean this heavy.

You say:

“Crossfit: Its circuit training/conditioning with weights and other implements. Well rounded fitness.”

They say:

“NO ITS NOT CIRCUIT TRAINING. ITS CROSSFITTING.”
“IM NOT AN EXERCISE ENTHUSIAST. IM A CROSSFITTER.”

rolls eyes

…it is like one saying "IM NOT SHTTING. IM “DEFECATING”

Same thing. Different words.

Ummm yeah you could say that.

I played sports all growing up and still enjoy it. I play on a few rec leagues here and there along with pick up basketball games from time to time.

I’ve ran in the Warrior Dash and the Tough Mudder as well as a couple sprint Tri’s… I just like being I’m decent shape and being able to do whatever I feel like doing whenever I feel like it lol.

That’s the thing, it was never meant to be a “sport” since survival is kind of a factor. Sports are hobbies which only exist if you got the surviving part down to a non-issue.
