Nice to see you here brute. Thanks for the kind words!
Today: BW 120 in the am. The plan is keep it here for awhile.
Pic didn’t work

Trying again
How did the doctor NOT laugh?!?!
That’s cute. And very funny.
Nice progress lovely =D
dont like your BW dropping? take shots of olive and coconut oil. srsly.
extra kcal from awesome sources, help kill more inflammation… the olive will be more difficult to down than the coconut, but 1tsp at a time isnt that bad.
swallowing > spitting.

I have a 6-pack, it’s just in a fat insulated cooler… ![]()
Pic looks great, keep up the determination and work!
6-pack story is full of lolz.
Mims- I say it as a joke that I do not mean. The girls in my industry are all into figure and fitness. I was working at a bikini show this past saturday. Felt like a whale compared to them. However at the end of the day when it is me and the barbell there is no regret. I will try to stop saying the F word though if it bothers that much. ![]()
Nadia, what an interesting experiment. Are you adding back starchy carbs? I’d be really interested to see how you felt off them for a longer period of time. Time of the month really affects how quickly carb-cutting leads to weight loss. At least that’s true for me. For a true measure of the effect of a diet change, you should consider keeping one regimen in place for an entire month.
Because of you, I went splashing in the ocean yesterday. Only up to my bikini bottom, but that is way more than I usually do.
If you must know: shark phobia.
BTW, I love your legs in particular.
Nikki: Thanks! Now, tell me how you are doing. Are you still running? Still planning to compete in the fall? How’s training? School?
Cbear: Good point. I probably haven’t been eating enough healthy fat. Shots of oily things sound seriously icky. I can avoid that. I know how to strap on the feed bag.
2busy: You and your body image issues. You look plenty lean and nicely v shaped to me!
Frenchie: Glad you laughed. And I love how comfortable you are in your own skin. I see that in your pictures. I guess I never even noticed that you called yourself fat!
Kimba: I haven’t cut out starchy carbs at all. Just simple ones like bread, chips and cookies. I’m still eating oats, corn, brown rice, potatoes, and beans. It’s not really practical for me to eat a rigid diet. I eat dinner with my family every night. I expect my kids to eat and try everything on their plate–I do the same.
This has been my diet, more or less, for the last 9 days. 3 eggs for breakfast. Once at work, instead of snacking on pretzels or cookies, I work on getting down two cups of oatmeal–that takes me about 4 hours. That shit is dense. Then lunch=salad w/ chicken. Lunch usually sparks my appetite. So, I’ll have yogurt and fruit as a snack before dinner. Then dinner=whatever we’re having=typically protein, carb, vegetable. Then, If I’m still hungry or if I need a sweet treat (I usually do), I’ll have a protein shake made with milk in the evening.

Training: 5-5-5 MP day
Mostly deloadish on the MP no rep prs, no BBB. Just warm up and working sets.
Pullups: I was initially assigned 8 sets of 10, but my coach (I guess I’ll call him that) modified my assignment down to 7 sets of 10. He said I sounded beat up. I remember when I first did 5x5, I thought–that’s my 25 and it won’t take long at all to string those together. I can’t explain why I have lost confidence in the process of getting stronger.
Today, I needed something other than what was inside of me. So it went, 10 sets of 7 super setted with sometimes heavy handed inspirational videos. And lots of cheezy self talk: “You’ve got this if you stay patient and manage your rest correctly. This is just the next small step. Stay tight. Breathe.”
I got the 7 sets. Thought long and hard about whether I went for the 8th set. I wasn’t sure I could get them. Knew it would be a mistake for me to try and fail. So I did only what I was told to do.

This is the first full week of our typical summer schedule. My husband and I are in drop off/pick up hell. Day care, gymnastics, swimming, football–we have something every night this week but Friday. Swim meet on Saturday.
I don’t envy your chauffeur schedule. We are absolute bums during the week…
pool everyday though!
Other fatty things that are nom: cheese, avacado, nuts, pb ground flax…
If you are having to force down oatmeal are there ways you can think of to make it tastier? Add raisins brown sugar and nuts. Thin in out with milk maybe? Pick something else to eat that you don’t think sucks?
Oh! Make your own breakfast sandwiches?? Just babbling away here…

Since i’m in list making mode:
-
your kids are a riot! You and your husband are clearly doing something very right.
-
You look bangin in that picture. I agree with Kimba, love love those legs! And your hair. I tried the bangs but with my wavy hair, bangs=wings.
-
Your pull ups are unbelievable, great great job. It’s no wonder it takes so much mental fortitude to do them. My quest to get 3 sets of 10 is my homage to you (is homage the right word?).
-
2 cups of oatmeal is a crazy ton amount of oatmeal! holy buckets, your colon has got to be squeaky clean!
Great job keeping hard at the adjusted eating, and good luck with the pick-up/drop-off marathon. I don’t know how you parents do it.
Oh N. if you consider yourself fat, then I must be super obese ![]()
How bout more cushion for the pushin? hehe
HAHA@cholulalula’s “You’re colon has got to be squeeky clean”. Now there’s a remark you don’t see everyday.
You look amazingly cute and young. I can’t believe you have a kid, much less one with as much character as you described here.
Good to hear the pullups are still increasing. Nice work!
Nadia, are you eating the oatmeal without cooking it? Like the raw oats? Any way you eat it, that’s a shit ton of oatmeal. I scarf down a half cup in the AM, but I cook it and it turns into this big bowl…
The mental aspect of pullups and chinups is probably what defeats me. After about 5-6 reps, I just can’t make myself do more.
Nadia, thank you ![]()
Surprised I didn’t see this post earlier being named after Tattoo’s. I am a perfectionist myself. Read my quote on my profile, and that pretty much sums me up. I keep striving for my goals, but I’m never happy once I reach them. So, I make new ones, break them, and move on. It’s a never ending battle. You have a lot on your plate, Being a mom, wife, professional, etc. I am glad I’m only a professional, as if I had kids and at least a girlfriend, I know my goals of being strong as hell would suffer.
But we aren’t invincible. I learned that this weekend at my competition. Partially ripped my IT band on my first attempt of squats. I thought I was going to dominate, but rather sat on the side lines cheering on the ones lifting. We all have up and downs, but what matters is what you do afterwards. We can’t meet everything we want to achieve. I want to be strong as I can be, which means in no near future I will have a six pack.
Though, I like my keg. lol. What I am trying to say is find that goal, and train for it. If it’s to do a bazillion pull ups, then you will need to fuel yourself with good quality foods, and pack on some muscle weight. If it’s to stick at 120, then eat decently, and keep the cardio up. Your strength will suffer though. It’s good vs evil. Which path do you prefer to follow?
+1 on the fabulous pins.
Your son is awesome. Your doctor, not so much. Perhaps it was a bad day, but damn, you’d think he’d crack a smile.
Mim: Schedule is tough right now, but we’ll manage. Thanks for the diet ideas. All good!
Lula: Thanks. Mental fortitude–I like that. My mistake is that I keep waiting for the pullups to get easier. I dream of doing them effortlessly. Silly me.
Ironcross: Have very nice of you to say–thank you!
Kimba: I am a glutton, a grazer, a woman with an extra large appetite. Yes, that is 2 uncooked cups of oatmeal cooked into a monsterous pot of oatmeal, which I eat all morning. Scary huh?
2busy: YOu’re welcome!
Kuobanator: Damn! I’m sorry to hear about your IT band. I’ve never heard of anyone tearing that, even partially, before. I hope you heal quickly! You’re right. I’m guilty of being somewhat driven and a bit of a perfectionist. I’m also guilty of having what many would say are conflicting goals…I want to dance on the fine line btw good and evil. I can’t or won’t choose. Not now anyway.
Cal: Doc is cool. He was probably just trying to create a “safe” place where Henry feels comfortable and doesn’t feel judged or laughed at or something like that…

Training: Yesterday PM 5 mile run
Today: Gymnastics. Not much to say. I’m happy that I’m not afraid to do a BW on beam anymore. I’m unhappy with my back and shoulder flexibility. My leaps still suck, but I can’t figure out why. My hands hurt on bars so I did only what was in the video. I can hold a handstand for a fair amount of time now, but my body position is far from ideal. Still, I had fun. I like the repetition model that marks gymnastics training. And I’m comfortable and happy working on perfecting the handful of basics that I can still do.
I’m not sure why but I’m totally dying to DL. But, I don’t get to until Friday.
tonight
I just wanted to let you know I’ve been stealing your music and it’s worked out awesomely. For a while I was squatting to Dusty Springfield. Last night I tried Adele, and it was perfect.
