The Never-Too-Late Tattoo Parlor

Nice pants. Don’t be afraid to drop and re-set on the kroc rows within the same set or throw straps on remember, they aren’t a grip exercise and the females I train with are all limited in kroc rows on account of hand size more than strength or badassery and don’t realize it until they add the grip assistance. You may find you are suddenly awesome at them when you add straps or if you hate them with a passion get good at re setting and pulling a few more singles or doubles at the end of your set you may be surprised how many more reps you can bang out. Kroc rows can be cheated on worse than the chicks on Jerry Springer and provide amazing gains, unlike the chicks on jerry springer.

Looking awesome.

WAIT WAIT WAIT! This log is on and crackin again?

Goddammit someone PLEASE Send me the mothafukkin MEMO next time.

Thanks Busy. I’m sure they will.

Mim: I did tweak the left side of my back. Oops! Not a good kind of sore. But, I’m feeling better today.

Cal: No. They’re just as awful though. Believe it or not, I have 2 pairs of those suckers–christmas gifts last year–from two different people! That doesn’t speak too well of my fashion sense I don’t think. You can take the girl out of NJ, but you can’t take the Jersey out of the girl.

Frenchie: Of course, videos of grand plies… who wouldn’t want to see that?

Kimba: Watch where you line up. Don’t start too far in the back or you’ll spend your first mile trying to get out of the way of slower runners and walkers. It’s frustrating as fuck and wastes energy. At my last race, I had such horrible anti-social thoughts and had to fight the urge to clip walkers strolling 3 wide down a narrow park path. This should be obvious–walkers should start in the back–but it isn’t. Fa la la la la la la la la I’m a bitch. At the same time, don’t go out to fast. You’ll finish stronger if you run an even pace or reverse splits. Oh, and have fun!

Alexus: I did do a warmup weight. I do need to get used to the exercise. I really am kind of a slow learner even with simple movement patterns. I’ll get more aggressive with these in time. Hell, I get to rep them out. I should love Kroc rows.

Brute: Me too. But maybe getting better at them will help things I love doing…

Bear: Thanks for the tips. Jerry Springer for the win. I’ve got to get straps and figure out how to use them.

Hallowed: I guess I am logging. I’m trying to cut back on my internet time. So maybe not quite as much? I don’t know what I’m doing.

Training: 5-3-1 week.

Yesterday: Got in my repeat 400s x6. A little slower than I needed to be @ 95 seconds, but it was just a victory getting out there and getting them done. The moon was amazing.

Today: ran again early this am. easy. And 5-3-1 mp. and pullups.

Missed ballet because I had another appt. I’ll hit contemporary dance on Thursday instead.

Heh, with my 10 minute mile pace, I usually start near the back. Then I can zip past the fools who go off too fast and then end up suffering later on. But yeah, Kimba’s fast. I often wonder if I lost weight (as in a fair bit, 10lbs or so) I’d get faster. Anyway, not going to be doing a lot of running until my injuries subside.

And Nads, you’re crazy with your running and 531 on the same day. But you know that!

I agree with Bear (as if I know shit btw, lolol) but I feel like Krocs are meant to be quick and dirty. I like them at the end of a workout as a finisher and just rep out 2 max sets with as much as I can handle. It can get ugly. But yeah, I do love me some kroc rows! They feel pretty badass.

Your squat form is a thing of beauty! You even made those look like a dance. Love it!

Bout to go read about tempo/cadence running now…

Keep up the great work!

Nadia, thanks for the advice. I’m hoping they have corrals/signs for the lineup so that I can figure out where to be. This is a big race…close to 5000 people, so the crowded part (when I always run completely alone) is sort of freaking me out.

400s x 6 = excellent work. Speed work is actually fun, in a sick sort of way. I’d imagine you’d be drawn to it.

Cal: You’re wise not to go out too fast–makes for a better race and faster time in most cases. The danger for me is getting lulled in to running slower than I would normally just because those are the people I’m around. I’m lazy. So it’s tough to pick up the pace. Sometimes it’s better to go out hard and try to hang on.

Masch: I know. Those kroc rows are so dainty and not aggressive. Funny. I can’t figure them out. Thanks for the squat love. I’m determined to improve that lift in 2012. It lags way too far behind my deadlift.

Kimba: Road races are a mixed bag. They’re fun. But they’re not. Wait in line to get your number. Wait in line to use a porta potty. Stand around outside in the cold waiting to run. Start running. Struggle to find your pace/place in the race. Then settle in. The race will be over before you know it!

Gymnastics today. My back is still bugging me some. I wouldn’t have gone to gymnastics today, but my husband got a baby sitter just so I could go. He had a dinner tonight and then was out of town last week, so he didn’t want me to have to miss again. Consistency is key. I tried not to hurt myself. Mostly did bars.

It bothers me to no end that I STILL bend my legs on my straddle cut catch.

But, I had fun doing a back uprise for the first time. On the strap bar so it was easy. When I went to do it without the straps I ripped the shit out of my hands–three rips on my right hand and one on my left. Mother Fucker. I let my callouses get too big.

videos are awesome. I live vicariously through them, knowing that my body will never fly through the air like that. sorry to hear about the hand. super glue works wonders.

I love watching your vids. I’m not surprised that your hands are a mess - it looks very hard on the hands from where I’m sitting. But may I say your arms and shoulders look incredible in the first vid. I envy your bodyshape, I really do.

Gymnastics videos! Here’s another one living vicariously through you.

I hear you on the “not-fun” part of road races. Crowds of any kind aren’t my thing. I’ve mitigated the standing around in the cold/potty situation somewhat by having friends that live almost on the start line. Who have an extra parking pass and a beautiful warm bathroom. Yeah!

Koub: Super glue? Is that like a cheap form of new skin? Weird. The good news is that rips don’t bother me. I can train with them no problem.

Thanks Cal. Swinging bars= a lot more friction. It is much harder on the hands than lifting. Still, I seem to rip a ton. I’m not sure why my hands aren’t coming around. It’s frustrating.

Kimba: Access to a private bathroom and a warm place to hang out before the start is huge! That’ll make the race. Hope you get good weather!

Yesterday was squats. I’m still struggling with trying to set up tightly. I can’t seem to do it efficiently, and I get anxious standing there feeling the seconds tick away with the bar on my back trying to get ready to go. So, I go before I’m ready. This is probably not the wisest course, and it’s going to hurt me as the weight gets heavier. FOr now, squats are feeling sloppy, but strong.

My back and shoulder hurt again after gymnastics. But they’re feeling better again today. I think I’ve been stretching too much. …or stretching too hard. I’m so impatient for improvement.

Bench maybe later. Or I might put it off. Wait for my husband. Get a spot? I’m back to being scared of the bench. Fucking shoulder.

I’ve been running probably more than I should this week. It’s my carb substitute. Have tightened the diet back up. I kept it tight up until THanksgiving. Then, baked goods worked their way back to prominence.

Incentive to diet–husband’s work holiday party. AND I really like the idea of going in to the New Year feeling great about my diet. Which I do right now. BW is perfect and I’m making solid food choices. I feel good.

But OMG Did I not just get HUGE GRIN picturing that happening!

Gawd I’m impressed! My foods are soooo bad and for way way longer than I typically do this. I has no incentive maybe LOL. Holiday party is just perfect. Um, whatchya gonna wear girl? I really think it will be best if you post pics of you shmexy shmexy dress!

Baked goods are definitely my Kyrptonite, so I understand the problem.

That is awesome that you are feeling good about your diet and weight. Feeling good is the best holiday present possible!

Hallowed: Yes, posting pics for advice. What should I wear?

Dresses don’t really fit me right anymore. So, I found a top in one store that I really liked. And a bottom in a second store. But, together they made me look too much like a cheap hooker.

[photo]35426[/photo]

So, at a third store, with help from a very effective sales woman, I found a bottom for the top I like.

[photo]35428[/photo]

And a top for the bottom I like.

[photo]35427[/photo]

Or I could put the top I kinda like with the bottom I kinda like.

[photo]35429[/photo]

I don’t know? Opinions welcome. These pics aren’t the best. ANd I hope they aren’t huge. I’m scared to hit the submit button…

Oh my lots to catch up on! First of all I never mentioned it, but I LOVE the little Nadia picture! Is it creepy to say that even as a kid you had great legs!?

Great gymnastics videos! I actually have one planned for you for next week and it will probably look quite similar. Kips and uprises are about all I have the guts for at the moment! Ride that straddle catch a little longer, that’ll put you in a better position to switch the hips and clear the feet. I ripped until my very last day in the gym, so no hope or solid advice there.

Gosh how far you’ve come with the diet? Remember a while back you were eating those pretzels all day long, dammit! Glad to hear you’re comfortable where you are…and I feel you on the home baked goods front, that is really the one thing that tempts me (and makes it so much easier to live alone).

I was just wondering this morning about your benching, actually. Does your shoulder hurt, and that’s why you’re scared…or is it the whole getting pinned under the weight thing?

Oh oh oh! Outfit pictures! You are seriously a hottie. I DEFINITELY vote option A. That sparkle skirt does VERY nice things for you, you probably won’t even make it TO the party with that on. Cheap hooker doesn’t come to mind in the slightest, that is the perfect new years outfit!!!

never used super glue before? hurts like a mother fucker, but beats an ER bill. I have 8 scars to confirm that it works.

@Hallowed - that actually made me laugh hysterically for a bit. if you can find me a bar stand that can handle my 300 lb ass, I’ll give it a shot.

OK… the top youre right, nooooooo
the bottom… noooooo

The middle two are BOTH GREAT.

The all black is the more classic of the two… is this your husband’s work event? I would go with that if so. Keep in mind though many women will be wearing all black. You will stand out though because your physique is SICK. The black also shows BOTH OF YOUR GORG SHOULDERS! So, thats my vote.

Choice number three.

No further votes will be taken. I’m afraid voting is OFFICIALLY CLOSED.

Solly gals!

Nice calves!
Top picture is not so much hooker as Studio 54. I like it but maybe too much sparkle (but hey, it is Christmas!) I’d go with sparkle skirt plus black top or silver top with the pencil skirt. I like option 3 best.

I like number three!!!

I prefer the sparkly skirt - it fits you perfectly while the satin number bunches around. I think both tops works but #3 would be more traditional for a work office party.
