I asked an old guy about this over the weekend. 1st point, when some of these guys were kids, the YMCA pool area was naked. 2nd most of these guys were in the military at one time or another ( still had the draft). They just do not give it a second thought, and think we are just being silly if it bothers us.
Maybe someone who is willing to let himself get/stay fat just isn’t self-conscious enough about his body to care what people think? If I had a waistline that was bigger than my chest measurement, I’d be too self-conscious about it to display my body shirtless in my backyard while mowing the lawn in August. But that’s me. And that’s why I work out and watch my diet.
Some people are just less inhibited, and they could hardly care less about having an esthetic physique. Therefore, they walk around naked, not caring about what OUR reaction is. Presumably, people on this website are more “body conscious” and therefore wouldn’t want to display what we would consider a “sub-standard” physique.
Obviously, not everyone feels that way.
