Crazy that people are talking about how “small” a 155 kg lean man is.
His abs look like someone stuck bricks onto his stomach ![]()
People are just jealous they cant get that big ![]()
In the lead up to the Deadlift Record I feel like I saw pictures and videos of Thor every day. I definitely got conditioned to seeing him and didn’t really appreciate how Huge dude was.
I had to see him lighter for it to really kick in. He was gigantic!
My gf thought he looked better bigger and that his biceps had taken a noticable hit. So I’m off to eat second lunch and do some curls.
Probably he is in the best shape of his life and I would bet his body feels the same.
Will be interesting to see if he decides to keep a leaner body and lifestyle or revert back to the strongman body/lifestyle.
Rumor is he retired from strongman because he didn’t want to keep putting his body though extreme high body weight and steroid abuse. Basically, he wants to keep living.
Strongman seems to be a sport were many of the top guys die very young. Usually heart related.
Smart decision on his part.
I agree. Strongman was only one of his areas to make a living. He will get more money out of boxing anyways. He probably has the most fame from GoT, and he can still claim he won WSM, and pulled the most weight ever.
A lot of the other guys only have Strongman. Thor has options.
I suspect Martins may eventually move on as well. I am starting to see him in commercials. He is also funny / likeable.
I’ll admit to not knowing too much about strongman competitors aside from what my brother-in-law discusses here and there, but it seems that no human body wants to carry such extreme levels of weight, regardless if it’s muscle or fat, around day in and day out.
I’ve known bodybuilders who have let their off-season weight get up to three bills, who report all sorts of health issues and concerns

Or that lean.
He’s probably going to move a lot better now that he’s minus one regular sized woman.
His heart will probably also thank him for this.
Someone in pharma awhile back told me that “My heart really wants to do Tren”. I said if your heart could think, it would want nothing of the sort.
I actually read that, then promptly muted that category so that the training logs selection started showing up on my drop down.
Also, after a little looking-Dude is only 32? Born in 1988. I’m no great judge of age, but in most pics I’m looking at him and thinking like early/mid 40’s, like minimum of 10 years older than he actually is.
I know that means diddly though. Its just unusual to me.
It’s a recent thing: a product of how competitions have gotten stupidly heavy, low rep and static. Back when dudes had to actually move and reps were higher we didn’t see this. Being 300lbs made you big back then, now everyone is 400lbs. Just nuts
I remember watching 80s and 90s WSM comps on ESPN classic. Those dudes were athletes. Now it seems strongman is an extension of powerlifting.
I remember watching Kazmaier (sp?) on old reruns on ESPN. Guy was an animal.

Still is too.

Most the guys from that era are still going strong. Maybe not being huge like Bill, but not dropping like flies. A few exceptions out there, like JPS, but not the tragedies that seem far more frequent.
Wasn’t he a football player in college? Running back I believe.
