The Lost Room (TV)

I just watched the first two hour episode on the SciFi Channel and I have to say it was pretty sweet. Supposedly the next episode is on tomorrow, which I like!

Anybody else check the geeky show out?

It’ll be interesting to see how they develop the room and the objects. In theory, they could turn this into a TV show where they bring in a new object every week.

But thats a seriously dated premise for a show. Here’s hoping this all ties together in the end with no loose ends.

Well, what’d you think? I enjoyed it. I liked that the shows were 2 hours long and that the story was over in three days.

I expect this will become a series. Pretty cool.

I need to see this. Was a big fan of Six Feet Under; I like Dexter so far as well. Peter Krause does good stuff.

Anyone ever watch Sports Night?

Yeah, I watchd it as well. My wife and I both really enjoyed the first two shows. I thought it was good stuff. The third was good too, and we were both excited to see it, but the ending left a really bad taste in my mouth.

I know they’ll probably make it into a series, and I hope they do. I’d watch it. But the ending to this really kinda put me off. No explanation of how the objects came about, etc. I know they have to have something to go into with the series, but the whole last 20 minutes or so just seemed like bad tv writing. I don’t mind a cliffhanger ending, but this…Mrrrrrr.

Check your listings but I think they said all three episodes will play on Sunday at 5pm eastern. I could be wrong about that though.

Never saw that one. Did Krause direct this one?

I saw the first episode and enjoyed the premise. There are some flaws in there, namely rushing some elements along like the coroner (i guess?) so quickly becoming a fervent believer in the room being some connection to god. That kind of thing needs to be built. And I wasn’t really believing the relationship between the father and daughter.

Otherwise, it turned out well and I liked where they were going. I havent seen the other two movies yet, but i’ll watch them on Sunday when they’re aired back to back. Right now it looks like he’s going to figure out that he needs to put all the items back in the room where they belong to get his daughter back.

That the show itself will be about dealing with the groups built around the mythologies created to explain the room, the human flaws the items bring out in their owners, and the oddity of the items themselves as they change things because of the combinations. He’s probably ‘the chosen one’ or whatever. Thats my prediction after the first movie anyway.

Given the nature of the show, if you don’t get tied up in minor issues like reality (and why would you given the premise anyway), it’s fucking fantastic.

The concept was awesome. It had me glued to the TV and I’m a pretty jaded scifi fanatic.

Somehow, I wish the final episode had given a bit more explanation by way of knowing how things worked…

Nah, Peter Krause is an actor that was in Sports Night and Six Feet Under, and is now in Lost Room.

I mentioned Dexter because the guy that played his brother on Six Feet Under (Michael C. Hall) is the lead in that.

Six degrees of Six Feet Under, anyone?
