I wonder how many people would be willing to block subway tracks, railroad tracks, roads, etc. if no one was compelled to stop for them. Edit: I mean, why on earth should anyone have to stop for some idiot that thinks he is so important that he can shut things down? Protecting morons from their decisions is one of the most glaring problems I see in our legal system.

Hi, former crayon eater here.
MCMAP is a very poor tool for actually fighting. I know a few MCMAP black belts who got fucking wrecked in a bar by a drunken country boi. They thought MCMAP would save them and they were very wrong.
A sample of what MCMAP taught us:
Bayonet techniques
Eye gouge
Curb stomping
Kicking someones knee in backwards
If you couldn’t tell, these arent tools for restraint. They’re meant to kill/maim, and if you actually pull off any of what was taught, you probably killed the dude you used it on. Violence is kind of a thing in the military for some reason
IDK, they should just focus on being nice and understanding to enemy combatants that may or may not be armed with an explosive vest.
Maybe even send a mental health specialist (because police man bad) to help understand why this homeless man felt it necessary to assault 3 different women.
*Not looking to debate here, as there’s at least one certified troll in the thread. Just here to add perspective. If the homeless dude was white, it wouldn’t even be a story right now.

I don’t know man, I guess race is always a factor, but this case seems compelling for more reasons than just that.
Like why so many people called 9-1-1 but didn’t have the courage to actually do anything?

What’s the lead up to this? They didn’t just end up on the ground.
If he’s charged this is just another example of why:
- You avoid public transportation
- Cities in general
- Don’t get involved unless you absolutely have no other choice.
The idea of men stepping in to help has long been dead.
My wife was confused by this, as s lot of emphasis has been put specifically on the man being a Marine.
She was under the impression that all marines are well trained and highly capable in hand to hand combat.
I clarified that, no- aside from an optional basic course, they arent.
Artillery and whatnot- sure. But they don’t run into battle throwing punches. Storm the beach in a coordinated effort- sure. Punch their way out of a secret prison camp- mostly just in movies.

I always have this reaction when someone, almost always a person on the left who thinks we’re just too darn hard on violent offenders, says we shouldn’t complain because things were worse in the 70s and 80s. I can’t even get my mind around this attitude.

How good are marines at grappling? Probably better than most through their basic training, fitness and aggressiveness, but not very good. As it should be. Hand-to-hand combat is not how wars are fought.
Here’s a pro MMA fighter tearing through a room of fit, young and aggressive marines.
Here’s a small woman giving a marine the business with BJJ.
Well, on the actual legal and ethical merits, absolutely nothing. But look around you. Our major media and several prominent politicians (AOC, Ayanna Pressley, others) are treating the respective races of Neely and Penny as the most important issue. Consider as well that a couple weeks ago there were riots in Chicago where white and Latino citizens were attacked and beaten at random by black mobs. The media gave almost no coverage to these attacks (the reports were always about “youths” just getting a little out of control). Our MSM care very much about the race of the perpetrator and victim; indeed, the MSM care about little else in terms of giving priority to crime reporting. I’m guessing this is what Andrewgen_Receptors is getting at.

They’re bad. I’m NOT experienced on the ground, but I won every (and i do mean EVERY) thunderdome through grappling.
Even against a few so called black belts.

There was seemingly little coverage over black on asian crime spike during the pandemic. If memory serves, some 200%+ increase in attacks against unarmed asians, perpetrated almost entirely by black americans.
We only care about crime that suits a specific victim hood narrative.
