I am not aware of that. Sounds like a bad idea for them to do that in view of the Hadith to my understanding. I recommend against blaming Muhammad (saw) or his first generation of Companions (raa) for that.
I wouldn’t say all Muslims throughout all of history did. You are deflecting. Slaves are human, you said they cannot consent - what is to prevent consent?
They are human but not treated or considered, to use your word, fully human. As for your question, you must be mentally deficient to need that answered.
Do you think that such fear in any and all cases did prevent consent in an absolute sense?
I appreciate two layers of potential flexibility, thank you.
I agree there is a lot of potential for abuse in that dynamic. Islam is both a legal system and a moral code. Someone could enter into it and benefit from the trusts in a legal and social sense without actually believing and living up to the responsibilities. They might seem to get away with it for a while - but to try that is contrary to what Islam teaches - the worst place in hell is reserved for those.
Muhammad (saw) and his first generation of Companions (raa) deserve more respect than to be assumed guilty of rape. In the Hadith zecarlo cited, rape was not mentioned, and that was his evidence when I asked for evidence of his claim.
Perhaps you did not read those links I put in post 1468. They would give a better idea of where I am coming from. Here are two more I wanted to post, but didn’t feel like explaining at the time
Umar seems to be the guest of Safwan, reprimands him for not giving the proper honors. Now I interpret Safwan’s response in either of two ways.
An excuse. Usually I would have, but I wanted to get better food for you than what we usually eat, causing a special situation
Thank you, I will improve on this, it was not out of malice
The Hadith you cited is a synopsis that one person gave to another after the fact. It doesn’t have the whole conversations. You claim to be knowledgeable on the topics, is this your best evidence? Perhaps you would benefit from a reminder - thou shalt not bear false witness
You really want to continue this? You are defending rape and slavery. I don’t know if you are trolling, intellectually disabled, mentally ill or very low IQ, but instead of letting it go you are doubling down. There’s no reason for anyone here to hang you, we just supplied the rope.
This is such a weak defense it’s not worthy of a response.
Perhaps the murdering, child raping, false prophet Muhammad should have taken that advice.
It’s easy to expose their bs. Whenever one of these people try and defend slavery and rape, by diminishing how terrible it was and how even slaves received benefits and had some rights, all you have to ask is, “would you have wanted to trade places with them?” The answer is always no which tells you how they real feel about slavery and rape.
I will take that as a “yes”, with all of your alleged knowledge, that was the best you can do
And I remind you that you were quick to give up on producing an example of a person before Muhammad (saw) that implemented more egalitarianism than he (saw) did.
You made a claim against Muhammad (saw), which I take more seriously here than a claim against my own self. Looking back now it seems you were a bit reluctant to back that claim as I recall jcpjcp asked and you tried to dodge. Then I asked and you gave something which was weak, backed by posturing and confidence games. I suppose bearing false witness may well have been what you had intended all along, and a reminder in your case should not be expected to help. At least I tried
