That’s how I feel I can’t wait for all the extras in this film.

No biggie. But that link is Rick Roll like a motherfucker.
Here’s my payback. I know what you’re thinking “How can he pay me back if I blocked from Youtube.” Good question, watch the video.
(nothing to do with comic books)

I know! I fall for it every time.
I also heard that they filmed a scene of The Incredible Hulk at the same time as a scene from Iron Man, i.e. in the background of the scene from one movie you could see stuff from the other… if that makes any kind of sense.
But I didn’t notice anything that stood out when I watched the Hulk.
Anyone else?
I love all this cross-over shit when it’s done well.
Just saw Hulk last night. IMO it had way better action scenes than Iron Man (which is a good movie) and the seeds they planted for the Captain America/Avengers movie were awesome. The Super Soldier Serum, the Avengers initiative, all were excellently done. I felt it was more of a homage to the TV series than an actual comic remake. Also the subtle jab at the Purple shorts (ala Ang Lee version) had me rolling.
My only gripe was that Hulk could have been bigger. He is supposed to swell up when he gets angry but he didn’t. That is my only minor gripe for that movie, and the fact that I don’t think Liv Tyler did a great acting performance, I would rather have seen more of the chick he was hanging with in Brazil, she was sexy as hell.
All in all a great summer comic book movie season so far, I think Marvel has hit its stride. Now only if DC can get their shit together then it will be a Nerd Utopia.

If you’re so interested in Brazil, why not head over to the “T-Nation goes to Brazil” thread.
Batman is all they got. And I pray for them if they decide to do a Green Arrow movie.

They would have to ditch the guy who played Superman last time and get a new director…and some new writers. Hell, they should start all over just like with the Hulk. Superman has grown too much in tv shows and in the comics for them to try to go back to the early 80’s as far as story telling like they did.

I think DC needs to start with getting their own production company/studio like Marvel did. Then do a complete Superman revamp like you suggested. Start with Superman fighting someone actually powerful and/or convincingly sinister, Spacey didn’t do it for me. Get rid of that lame that they picked to be superman and go with someone who has character. If they have to bulk up an established actor then so be it. Have a Bruce Wayne or Wayne industries tie in to get our mouths watering for a Batman/Superman team up movie.
I would love to see superman take on Dardseid or even Brainiac, why do they consistently go back to Lex Luthor? The cat who plays Lex in Smallville is did a way better job than Spacey. Even though THE all time best Lex Luther is from the Justice League cartoon. If they can make a realistic version of him in a live action movie that would be an acceptable villan. DC has a long way to go unfortunately. I would love to See a Green Lantern movie with The JLU version of GL.

Gonna have to check that out!
Just saw this movie… Fucking Incredible.
Marvel is really on the ball with the movies lately…
EDIT: Point well made…

If you check BGOL there is a video somewhere that shows trailers from the 80’s original to the last one… They are nearly identical. They had to have planned it the way they made it. It’s really sorry. Really sorry…

Another issue is that, while I like Bryan Singer as a director, he’s admittedly not a fan of comics. He actually called them ‘low level literature’. He did have a huge hard on for Richard Donner though and I think that’s the only reason he got involved with Superman. They said that when he was making X-Men, that he’d watch scenes of the original Superman movie between takes for inspiration. Anyway, you’d think DC would want a director that is actually a fan of comics directing a movie about a comic character.
It looks like Man of Steel has been pushed back to a 2010 release. About the only other thing I’ve heard is that Superman will actually fight someone this time. Unfortunately, Brandon Routh is expected to return as Superman. There had been a rumor that they were going to recast Superman for the sequel, but it looks like that didn’t happen. Oh well…
I’m finally going to see Hulk this afternoon. Can’t wait!

You won’t be disappointed.
I enjoyed this movie! I thought it was a better meshing of the comics and moviedom than was done by Ang Lee.
spoilers
I wasn’t sure about the whole “super soldier” turned gamma beast by The Leader. I thought the part where Emil Blonksy was on the field with Hulk and dogdging him every which way made me think of the Cap and Hulk fight in the Ultimates book.
Something I really enjoyed was the beginning where they used all that time to give a bunch of background on the Hulk without doing the whole flashback thing. The Stark Industries logo on the sound trucks and the interweaving of S.H.I.E.L.D. throughout the movie along with a flashing of Nick Fury’s name.
I thought the ending with Tony Stark approaching General Ross would have been more appropriate for General Nick Fury to have come in somewhere as well.

I think you might need to put the word “Spoiler” in your post. At least I think so. I could be overly sensitive about your post.
