The Grind...

So Ddot, what do you know about Relora?[/quote]

I’m not a Doc, so I’m not going to quote med articles (nor do I know how), but my understanding of Relora is in it’s use to lower cortisol in the system. It’s widely believed that elevated cortisol levels can be visible in stored adipose tissue around the mid-section. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but that’s where the term ‘heart-attack belly’ was derived from; since elevated levels of cortisol have an impact on heart function.

The hardest/last spot for me to lose body fat is my lower abs which I correlate to elevated cortisol.

If K is experiencing the same, it’s something he might want to consider alongside Ashwagandha, especially considering the circles he travels in. Way more resources on those supplements in the other world.

I believe Poliquin is a big advocate for Relora (or Magnolia officinalis bark and Phellodendron) and Ashwaganda from a few conversations I have had with his ‘disciple members’.

Back is looking W I D E!

Nice work Kent.

that squat trio is madness

great session- hope you can hobble around for the rest of the week

progess pic is looking good
well on your way to spangly black and purple briefs

YO!

I’ve got the pleasure of spending 2 weeks in Honolulu this February. Which is awesome… except I’ll be 12 weeks pre-contest at the time, so I need to find me a gym.

I’ve done some hunting on-line and there’s a 24 hour fitness just 1km away for $70 a week. Does anybody else have any recommendations? My hotel is right by the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre.

I did the usual Google thing… I found 24 Hour Fitness within 1km for $70 a week. I was wondering if anyone who’s been there recently had some novel suggestions.

There’s a lady who’s usually in the Indigo livespills, goes by HawaiiTunya. I think she actually co-owns a gym, not sure which island.

What a cool piece of music.

I have been to Hawaii 2x for work

all I saw was the plane, cab, hotel ballroom , cab plane.

each for 4 or 5 days

reach out to some other speedy wearing types see what is up

My sadistic trainer had me doing these supersetted with high-rep bench presses… asshole.

That looks pretty rough

Never saw those before. That takes real coordination.

I would of broke my face on those!

Look at those front delts! And the calves! Sumbody gunna be a bodybuilder!

Oh man, I am sick.

But there is lifting to be done. When my coach delivered my last set of marching orders he said that the past two months have been priming my body for four intense weeks of muscle building. So basically, all the suffering for the past 8 weeks has just been to stage for the month of December.

So the question is, what do I intend to do with it?

I sure as hell am not going to blow the opportunity for ANY reason. I intend to milk it. Which means dragging my stuffed up, phlegmy, sore a$$ to the gym at 5:30 am 6 days a week to lift. And as much as I really felt like I wanted to just go right back to bed afterwards and call in sick… if I’m well enough to lift, I’m well enough to work. Damned Catholic conscience!

Much to my surprise, I destroyed yesterdays deadlift workout. The “plan” was to do warm up sets and build to a heavy single at 90% of my one-rep-max (1RM). And then do nine sets of 3 at 70% of my 1RM, with 60 seconds rest between them. Well, my 1RM on DL is 365, so 90% would have been 330, and 70% would have been 250. But things felt really solid, and I was in a mood to give 'er s##t.

As big brother dogg would say, I got a bit of a wild hair…

warm-ups x several
335x1 (60s rest)
355x1 (60s rest)
315x3 (60s rest)
315x3 (60s rest)
275x3 (60s rest)
275x3 (60s rest)
275x3 (60s rest)
275x3 (60s rest)
275x3 (60s rest)
225x3 (60s rest)
225x3
gasp and wheeze x many

Okay so this is baby weight 'round these parts, but for me this is freaking beastly. Maybe some good is being sone here after all! Next week I’m going to see if I can push for 375 and score a lifetime PR… with Marry’s warm up weight.

I saw this frightening monstrosity in the deli today. It was distrubing enough to be confronted with a geometrically perfect prism of ham, but then I checked out the fine print. I was then left to wonder exactly what the FUCK was in the remaining 82%.

Crazy bastard! Way to get in and get stuff done even while sick. 9x3 is ruff. Well done, get well soon.

Don’t laugh, an artificial flavor died to make that thing.

God, you’re destroying deadlifts. You’re getting stronger and leaner at the same time. You’re holding onto your diet even during the holiday season. You’re starting to scare me.

nothing to be ashamed with that DL session that was legit as fuck, on top of being sick, way to power through broski

Nice pulling buddy! Have yourself an 18% MP cooked ham sandwich for a prize. LOL
