And most painters probably can’t sing very well. I don’t get your point.
I probably can’t define it. But if you can’t see the difference between someone creating a novel, a song, or a movie, compared to playing well in a game, I dont what else to say. I feel like this is getting to a point where all that is being done is playing word games. Are you going to say that everything is art?
Do you not agree that certain sports encapsulate a broader range of body performance than golf or baseball and that a broader range is more impressive?
Sure, I’d probabaly agree with that.
I don’t understand why you keep saying that everyone is playing “word games”. Not a single person here has made a semantic argument against your weird claims haha.
You keep defaulting to arguments which essentially boil down to “I don’t know… I just think sports are different in a way that I can’t articulate, and that’s why I think they’re bad while things that I value are good.” It’s not very compelling and it’s really hard to engage with.
My guess is that you never were athletic in school.
The kids that made the baseball team also played other sports for the most part. The comment: “he lettered in four sports” comes to mind.
IMO, you are trying to intellectualize something with which you have no experience.
Don’t let him off so easy… I don’t have any experience playing or watching sports either, and his argument still doesn’t make sense. haha
This.
You made the logical fallacy of appealing to morality.
You’re comparing apples to CNC machines. It makes no sense
You just sound like you are afraid of competition. Art is in no way comparable to sports. No one is actively trying to stop you from painting or singing or directing. Sports are competitions. Proving yourself against an adversary. I understand why YOU don’t put any value on that.
The OP’s logic is so ridiculous. Some people love spending Sundays watching movies on Netflix; some people love spending Sundays watching football, and plenty of people would rather spend Sundays going for a bike ride or hike. But we should ban option #2 because the OP’s feelings are hurt? He feels like a loser because so many people choose this option?
If I tried my hand at making movies and failed, then we should ban theaters because when I see how people line up to watch them, watch the Grammy’s, etc…then I feel like a loser.
No, and stop putting words in other peoples mouths.
But there are many people who would prefer to watch Brady than Pacino.
So back to those definitions since you hold these subjects in such high regard-
What is art?
What is invention?
Why do you remind me so much of castoli from thos failed PWI threads?
Anything can be.
Hmmm…
Yep.
All he does is skid-bitch and blunder into another subject and use hyperbole to put words in peoples mouths.
I miss colucci’s IP sleuthing abilities. That would solve the conundrum.
But OP here stated he lifts, something Castolli has never done…
I’ll liken this to my feelings of art, but with OP’s level of common sense…
I fuckin hate art because I think it’s stupid and only for limp-wristed democrats to partake in.
Therefore I think it is an illness to society and should be banned.
Plus OP seems married with child(ren). Who would possibly marry Castoli?
Trolls lie.
@SkyzykS figured it out.
Theres only one way to find out.
“I love capitalism and the way that captains of industry make sure everybody gets a fair share of profit. I warms my heart to see guys like Warren Buffet amass such great fortune, because if he can do it, so can I.”.
There. This shouldn’t take long at all.
