I enjoy running.
I hate supplements and only use protein powder and creatine.
IIFYM is fine, but it seems to be an excuse for many. I’m as guilty as anyone there.

I think it works if you have the ability to be mildly OCD about your diet. I know this probably makes no sense. It’s just that I’ve had (continue to have) decent results pretty much using IIFYM but:
Guys, replying and defending really kinda takes away from the spirit of the thread.
Fair point. Very fair point
No it doesn’t (You do get it, right?).
All valid points and it’s scientifically sound, but I wasn’t trying to debate it. And, seriously, nothing about the running thing?
I keep trying to make myself do more powerlifting training (e.g. 5/3/1) to get my big three lifts up. But I eventually keep coming back to my push, pull, leg routine of moderate volume (6-9 sets, 6-12 reps per bodypart), and focusing on feeling the muscle and not chasing numbers. My body (especially my joints) just seems to like that better.
In the past I have found it so amusing on line when someone makes a statement regarding anyone who is focused on strength be it Powerlifting,Strongman or Weightlifting “Those people people are purely ego training.” Yet these same people whom say things like that are concern about having a rock hard six pack and a set a gunz along with being worried about how they look. Am I missing something in all this?
So strength focused training is all about ego and “training” to develop a six pack and gunz isn’t? Needless to say I cant help busty a gut when I hear this type of foolishness.
note: had to add more to this …didnt come across like it should have.
I positively HATE daylight savings time and wish the stupid, cocksucking bastard who moved the end of it to November had every clock in the world shoved straight up his ass!!!
That is all.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa
body is not invalid
I pretty much lose respect for anyone who has trained for a reasonable length of time and is still weak. Unlike someone who doesn’t train, you have no excuse.
I don’t keep track of how much protein I ingest. I just sort of guess. I should, but I don’t.
You know, I have no idea what daylight savings time is but your post compelled me to googled it out of interest.
From wiki, apparently it was proposed by, and enacted because of either:
A dork who wanted more time to fuck around in the grass looking for grasshoppers.
An asshole who wanted more time for his daily game of golf.
IMHO, public impalement through the ass at the top of London’s Big Ben would be justified in this case.
Benjamin Franklin invented daylight savings time.
The guy who invented progressive gradual overload was eaten by wolves!
I believe there are vast conspiracies devoted to hiding these facts.
When I hit a really big lift I like to leave the bar loaded up as a monument to my own roaring badassery AND I CANNOT LIE. also I like it when I put down a deadlift and the floor shakes.
I guess the strength gained wasn’t functional.
Exactly! Walking around with a bull on your shoulders doesn’t transfer to shit.
The Greeks got smart and invented the running and jumping and javelin throwing events to get more functional.
So the dumb noob with a faggy name was doing High Bar Farmer Walks. Ego lifter!
Kinda late to the party, but my guilty (training related) secret is that I think back squats are seriously overrated and I’ve been using front squats instead for well over a year now.
This conversation has happened twice this week.
Guy in locker room: “man I just can’t gain weight, I’ve tried everything I just can’t.”
Me: “sure you can, you just gotta eat man.”
Guy: “I do! I eat a ton!”
Me: “have you ever tracked your cals? Like have a plan and know how much you’re eating every day?”
Guy: “no, I’m too lazy.”
I’m sure we’ve all had this conversation!
