It was a veiled reference to a dude here on LI that is a bit of a fraud.

It was my 17th 39th birthday!

I know the thread has been neglected for a bit because most of the traffic has been over on that plebs little rant about “80% diet” and “fArMeRs WaLks RuLe YoU sUcK” but it got me thinking about how much you take someones word for the truth, and if they actually have a point
By no means am I advocating his (or her’s… Idk what gender “it” is) but whenever those little threads or rants come along (and there have been a few of them) it becomes apparent after 10 or so posts that they essentially get called out, and to post a photo or results of what they have achieved
Similar to this person, or the ARX guy, etc that they never do post these proven results (which in my opinion would validate some of there absurd claims)

And I know there are people here who haven’t posted videos or photos for their own reasons, but I can’t help but feel that if they don’t prove what they preach, my confession is that I always lean on the side of calling bullshit to what they say
Maybe I need to be more open minded or trustworthy to these peoples claims or stories

I think if someone wants to make an outlandish claim or something that goes against the grain (as in, something that has been done for years that have proven results and are a staple to a certain goal), if they had solid proof straight off the bat, then it would certainly help their cause

Wanted to do hyperextensions earlier and couldn’t because someone was using it as a Prowler.

I couldn’t even be annoyed. She’s a genius.

You mean we should provide some sort of validation for our claims? Nonsense!

It’s like that damn meme I keep seeing.

(Insert bold and unfounded statement/claim here)
Change my mind!

This apples to all aspects of life!

For some reason this meme/cartoon reminded me of this one that applies to my line of work. I guess it’s the unqualified turd yelling at the clearly more qualified person.

Omg this. Brad and I did a whole podcast last year about the epidemic Of “pub-med online experts” these days ranting about how everyone is doing everything wrong despite visible evidence to the contrary.

My new favorite meme is the one that says:

SQUATS ARE BAD FOR YOUR KNEES

FALSE

BEING FAT IS BAD FOR YOUR KNEES

Great for the calves tho…

Life is all about trade offs, you know?

And yet you’ll still see some FFB’s lose weight and end up with nothing. 99% of the time I feel bad for them. That 1% though, that’s the guy with an inflated ego who truly thinks he’s got a ton of muscle and just needs to lose weight, so admittedly (#flamefree!) I get some satisfaction seeing the harsh reality.

Can’t argue with results!

Wait, according to the forum and the trash I’ve seen, I can.

In that same vein, and I suppose this could be a confession…

You ever see those dudes that are like 390 lbs and end up dieting down and actually end up a pretty solid 210 or so? Shits fucked up. Us naturally 150lb dudes can never hope to get there and all they have to do is lose fat.

8-10 years ago, I based my programming off all the “research” that was going around online. It didn’t get me anywhere except injured, scrawny, and weak AF. Then 6 years ago, I said to hell with it, and committed to full body 5x5 for a year, then Push/Pull/Legs after that, hitting each muscle group every 4-6 days. Now I’m 30 lbs heavier, but leaner, and feeling WAY better! Despite what various studies say, sometimes you just have to say “F*ck the research!” and do what YOU KNOW works best for you!

Its amazing how many of those types we get on here and how butt hurt they get when they get called out.
Honestly I think some are just compensating for the fact that in the real world that no one is actually asking them for advice on the subject matter .

This is sorta on topic and not… I find it interesting that my oldest whom is majoring in exercise science will have several of his classes being taught by a professor whom formerly competed in Bodybuilding ( not sure at what level) Be interesting on his take on certain subject matter.
