I’m okay with it. My work life has basically been dealing with people who know they want something but they’re unsure what it is.
The ambiguity of this makes them a bit whacky so they want a bunch of control over how you go about things. I guess the risk/cost of something they can’t understand the path towards scares them.
My oldest boss at his summer job ( whom I went to school with) asked my son “if he was as hardcore in the gym as his dad.”
Needless to say it was a much needed ego boost for me.
Inspired by this forum, I’ve started mixing in 1/2 quart of 5w-40 with the usual 5w-30 so my engine can have 5w-31. It’s running better than ever, it really does work for everything!
To clarify, I have no idea what Alpha Destiny does or does not think about 5/3/1, as I’ve never watched his channel. I just know I see new lifters bring that name up a lot whenever they want to make decisions about training.
Anyone ready to feel like a weak little bitch? Leigh Holland-Keen has become only the second woman to lift Scotland’s legendary Dinnie Stones (733 pounds combined weight, she is lifting 2 seperate stones here):
Based on that I started to look into Donald Dinnie… Dude was impressive as hell. Aside from winning the highland games 20 YEARS IN A ROW (I know competition back then wasnt as high as now, but still), his athletic career spanned over 50 years, and over 11,000 successful competitions. I dont know if I’ve done anything 11,000 times.
To this day only 90 men and 2 women have even lifted them, and only 6 total have carried them the full length of the 17 foot bridge (one other of which was his Dad…)
It really is, and it seems like its the most awkward deadlift of all time. Its like a jefferson deadlift where the bar is split in half. I hope this doesnt come off as a back handed compliment or whatever, but I was surprised by how average she looked (and Dinnie too for that matter). Usually when you hear about these things its these hulking Brian Shaw type dudes… Dinnie was like 6’1 and 185 pounds or something with 15 inch arms.
