Don’t dip the pen in company ink. Old timers have sayings for a reason.
It was. Free car, free apartment, free food, per diem on top of salary, lots of booze. Plus it was a temporary assignment with most people going back home at the end of the project.
We charted out our relationships towards the end of the project and it turns out almost everyone was separated by no more than two degrees of fucking.
The project was also a big success.
In fairness to myself i go into these things with eyes wide open…
Anyway I’m moving firms in a few weeks, clean slate and all that…
I dunno, if a woman is attractive and single and not related to me or directly managing me. Old timer sayings are all well and good but ya
Risk vs reward. What are the risks of a sexual encounter with a coworker? What are the consequences of an encounter/relationship going bad? What are the rewards?
All it would take is one woman alleging harassment and you’d be all but blacklisted. Even if the claim was without merit
Office relationships were low where I was working. Majority of the men were married. We had one single guy, and a single girl whose personality wasn’t working with the section. We were informing the single guy that he had a duty to attempt to sire progeny with the girl, in the hopes that the eventual maternity leave would give us some relief.
We stopped on our plan when we realized that a child conceived purely out of dislike for a co-worker was a few latin words and some goat’s blood away from accidentally birthing the anti-Christ.

I know I know.
Fact is I got pretty well harassed by a married woman at work, talking full on. Thankfully she got over it and moved on but yeah, dicey.
I’ve said all of the above somewhat in jest as frankly, I’ve been pretty well behaved the last year or so and curbed my drinking significantly (lost 20lb odd of fat in that time too).
Part of my moving firms aside from more money and better prospects of progression is a fresh start.
I completely second this sentiment.
Well Thanks for the compliment @anon96032531 & @IronAndMetal Understand also as much as I will praise my boys and support them. The wife and myself do put expectations on them and try to push them to be the best they can be. But in the end my general attitude with my sons would best be summed up in the pic below

I have a rule: Never become friends with, or be friendly outside of work, with a co-worker.
Familiarity is a bitch.
I’m a full fledge extrovert. My wife is a cancelled plans is better than fulfilling plans, type of person.
Happy to report I have Baltimore Orioles on the feeders–in April, no less. If I keep the feeders full, they should be with us all summer. Such a sporty-looking bird (the male, that is).
The FF confession is, I’m a modestly avid bird watcher.

This. It would be months of being put through hell and if you came out clean you would still carry the stigma. Worse again if you have a family.
And all for what? A few a few seconds of pleasure… ![]()

I was an extrovert. I dunno why I’m getting more introverted as I grow older.
People are getting worse.
Baltimore Orioles
Yea, I used to watch the Orioles play too. Then Cal Jr. retired.

Reminds me of the Yogi quite “no one goes there anymore, it’s too crowded”.
I generally like people until I get to know them. It’s a lot easier to avoid people, that way I don’t end up disliking everybody.
If you boys are tearing hamstrings from slow pitch softball
I love ya guys, but i have to go with @littlesleeper. No reason to be blowing hammies between bases.

We’re still getting snow, so our birds are probably a little miffed.
I check some out while I’m in the woods, which is a good bit. There has been a big upswing in all kinds around here. Cranes, wood peckers, various birds of prey and even a bald eagle.
I like fishing with the cranes. They’re good at finding the fish.
There’s a baseball team in your yard?

Do you get red winged blackbirds in LA? One of the coolest things in nature is a lone little red wing chasing off a red tailed hawk or crow.
They hover right above the larger bird’s back trying to peck it square on top of the head. They punch way above their weight to protect the nest.
Cranes
We have a blue Heron who visits the farm looking for frogs/fish in the creek. He’s pretty cool. Looks like a pterodactyl taking off.

Thats what I meant!
