I can’t imagine how my body will feel when I reach my 30s, let alone when I get “old”. Most of these days, I wake up feeling as though I was hit by a truck. I’m guessing it’ll just be an additional truck for every 10 years of age.
I imagine more your perspective will increase with age and a balance would occur.
When I was 16, I thought I knew the worse pain in the world from dislocating my shoulder and tearing the labrum, and I used that as my barometer of suck. Then, I scrapped off a good amount of my left cornea at 29, and suddenly my perspective changed. Same thing with aches and pains.
I just love hearing the younger people complain about beeing to old for stuff, lol.
Last weekend after the championship game of the hockey tournament I played in.
Players on the other team “We’re getting too old for this shit.”
Me: “How old are you?”
One player: “I’m 37.” Other player: “I’m 40.”
Me: “How old do you think I am?”
Both: “You’re 45?”
Me: “55”
Lol
Well, 29 with 26 years of experience ![]()
Think that is related to your lifting now?
I think this has probably got more to do with my mentality more so the actual lifting itself. I’ve this dumb mentality of, might as well beat myself up more while I’m young.
I like the shaved undercut with long/short hair over the top on all of about 2 women in the world - those women have probably spent 4 hours getting ready and have select shots chosen and God-knows what filters applied.
It looks straighout terrible on nearly every other woman - same applies to men but it’s rare to see it on a male not stuck in the early 90s these days.
It’s nothing compared to being young and stupid…
I often am surprised at how much better my 30’s have been than my younger days. (You know, that precious time that is supposed to be the best of your life.)
I’d trade 2 days of 21 for an extra day of 36.
Happy Sunday T-nation!
long-hair, pulled back, FTW
Keep in good shape and you’ll love your fifties, just saying,
I always thought I was so smart, and I was never overly stupid, but in retrospect, I was pretty fucking stoopid.
Nothing educates you better than age. I honestly love being 54. I’m in the best shape of my life, I have some money, and the girls are smarter too. It’s all good bros.
Youngster!
My 20’s were all hopes and dreams.
In my 30’s I’m enjoying freedom and means much more!
Here’s to more of the same!

I drank 16 beers at my softball tournament and I feel like shit. I’ve already napped and showered. My head is killing me and I have an unquenchable thirst.
I think I was just too stupid to notice how awful this felt when I was younger.
But, did you have a good time?
Overall, yes. I’m not happy with my performance and we went 2-2 and didn’t make the finals again.
It kills me to watch adults who are fat and unathletic. I’m too competitive. Our first lost was due to five errors in one inning…and the first three were slow ground balls. It was like watching the circus.
Fat guy bends over to grab ground ball, kicks it, stumbles, kicks it again and is unable to pick it up in time to make a play.
Well, if your efforts were going to be squandered by the fat and nonathletic, may as well be drunk and have a good time haha.
It took so long for me to drop the hyper-competitive bullshit and learn how to have fun while losing at something. Ruined a lot of games/days before I figured it out, so now I just get to be a ringer and have fun no matter what. Unless I’m playing basketball, I suck at basketball.
I feel you man. I love watching my son and niece play sports. But as a whole, watching small children play sports is like watching paint dry while I slam my head into a wall
My 30s have been the best decade of my life so far.
If those were light beers, you really drank 4 beers and 12 cans of water. ![]()
Hoping/planning for the same here. I spent my 20s studying and/or working towards qualification and drank too much in between. Now at 32 my work life balance is on point, I’m in better shape than I’ve been since I was teenager and doing far better with the fairer sex ![]()
Ps - saw the whisky conversations earlier in the thread. Laphroaig please, neat.
