Raw Noise!!!
@dt79 Noise?
That’s nothing like noise. I like Indestructible. See, music is subjective so although I’m not much of a fan, I acknowledge that these guys are putting effort into coming up with interesting shit and the singer doesn’t sound like Bono. That’s good enough for me.
You will be Happy to know that U2 will be performing here soon in my home state… needless to say I AM NOT GOING.
I hate when someone asks you to spot him and when he finishes his set he doesn’t even thank you…
That’s because you have no leverage. You have to ask for the “thank you” BEFORE lifting the weight when he reaches failure. You can even ask him to say lots of other stuff in such a situation like, “I feel pretty and witty and gay and I pity any girl who isn’t me today!” Say it like you mean it, bitch!
Get him back by asking a spot… And don’t say thank you
it will haunt him so much he will have to show his appreciation more often.
I hate when someone ask you for a spot even though it becomes clear that a spot was never needed.
I just want someone to lift the overloaded bar off my chest while yelling “it’s all you, bro!!!”
It’s not a good chest workout until you get those heavy bench negatives in! I want the spotter pull it off of me, then I get pissed cause he pulled too much!
Pecs only respond to annihilation!
Nah I hate when you ask him to spot you when needed and then he starts to fuck up your set and help from the first rep
It seems about 50% time I get asked to spot someone it goes like this
Me: how many reps are you going for?
Them: About 6 or so, I just need help on the last few
Then they proceed to bench their 3RM for 6 reps. I really have no idea how to do this properly since they shouldn’t be lifting that much at all. The bar speed is 100% dependent on how much I help, do I barely help so each rep is grinder speed?
Make sure rep #4 so miserable that they are excited to re-rack lol.
Speaking of spotters there is one thing I’ve never understood.
I see these videos of people squatting 500+ lbs. And 1 person on each side keeping their hands under the collar area.
Do they really expect to catch the weight if drops that fast?
Like what if the guy squatting passes out or injures his leg and just drops. In the video go to 48 seconds. How do those guys (granted they look strong) plan on saving him???
I’ve never used spotters in my life, so I really don’t understand how they are supposed to work. I’ve been blessed to use bumpers in platforms so I’ve always been able to bail on a failed lift.

Those spotters ruined the whole workout!
Slow down the bar’s fall just enough so that the safety pins stop it rather than bending in two? There are two spotters on each side.
No. That’s not the job of a spotter. A spotter’s role in a meet is to assist the lifter back to the racks in the instance that they are unable to lift the weight. They are not there to save the lifter in the event of a catastrophe. No one has reflexes good enough for that, and quite frankly, no one SHOULD try to catch the weight if it’s dropped. That is how you blow out a bicep.
This is why, at a meet, the directors tell you that, if you can’t lift the weight STAY WITH THE BAR. It’s also why you can get kicked out of a meet if you bail.
Oh ok I understand now. I never knew what their exact job was during these meets. I always thought they were there if it dropped lol. Thanks for the education!
