The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

Is it weird that my 16 year old brother wants scented candles for Christmas?

I also learned that the moisture in your nose and on your eyelids can freeze as soon as you walk outside.

Reminds me of my favorite “how cold is -60 degrees” story.

It wasn’t the time I got some Omaha steaks for Christmas and left the dry ice it was shipped in outside my front step and it spent 5 days to dematerialize.

It wasn’t about how I had a freezer in my garage that kept food warm in the winter.

It was the time I got a large diet coke with no ice at a Burger King. I filled the cup all the way up, and was parked RIGHT outside the door. I got on my sweatshirt, my coat, my knit cap and my gloves, put the soda in my hand, counted to 3 and sprinted out the door, straight into the car.

When I got in, the soda was frozen SOLID. The straw was stuck. I had to throw the whole thing out.

And you think at first “Bullcrap: nothing freezes that fast”, but then you consider that the freezing temperature of water is 32 degrees ABOVE zero. So when you get to -60, you’re 90 degrees below that…

At that point, antifreeze freezes

I like US stories about temps like -60 because at that point I don’t have to bother converting the temperature; it’s all just “really fkn cold” at that point.

The coldest I’ve ever experienced was like -23C and I’m totally happy to keep that record standing for the rest of my life.

Boy do I know it.

You’d have the car IN the garage, block heater plugged in, with a space heater pointed at the damn engine. You put the key in the ignition and the engine doesn’t even rev. It just kinda shrugs at you, like “what the f**k do you want me to do?”

@mattjp Thankfully we can all find common ground at -40.

I think the coldest I’ve experienced is probably around -15 or so. It almost felt like you were breaking the car out of suspended animation when you started it up, or like you could feel the car expanding from its inactive state. Hard to describe but a cool and miserable experience.

-60 is too damn cold.

And diesel fuel turns into jello, it gets ugly. You can scoop it up with a spoon.

I remember eating breakfast and watching the weather. -16 degrees and it was sunny and clear. It was colder where the bobsled track was. It would be -32. They’d actually cancel bobsled practice.

If anybody here is using weed vaporizers, unless you’re in a legal state, just get some flower.

I tested positive for morphine yesterday, I was using TKO carts that (looking back) are very obviously fake. The highs are amazing, but not worth ingesting morphine for, imo.

Carts are dangerous. Just had to let y’all know.

That’s messed up.

I agree, buds are better.

That’s crazy! Stuff like this rarely happens even in China

Always have been, always will be.

“here, take 2 for $60 because we’re pals”

“Woah, thanks for the awesome deal!”

mfw i test positive for morphine

I might buy another one today, just so I can knock this dude out and dump all his carts down his gas tank.

To be fair, it’s possible this dude had no idea what he was actually selling you.

Like when you buy something in a can, anything could be in there.

Buds are cool because you get to inspect them first.

Lol…he’s been cutting me deals on these for months and now I know why. I’m going through opiate withdrawals without the damn things. I shit my pants at work. Literally. Straight mucus. I’m ratting this guy out to the cops, he can enjoy sitting in jail for 15+ years because he also sells Adderall (I don’t touch those anymore though).

Be careful you don’t end up arrested yourself.

Did you here about the woman who got pinched when she took her meth to the police station to get tested for purity?

Be careful.

But yeah, that is entirely fucked.

Morphine exits quickly though, if there is a bright side. Very uncomfortable, but quickly.

When I was hospitalized in June I woke up soaked with morphine and was getting a shot every 2 hrs. It occurred to me that if heart failure doesn’t kill me opiate addiction absolutely can.

Fortunately the withdrawal was quick and I took some preventive measures to keep from picking up again.

Morphine taught me the meaning of “warm and fuzzy”

But it wasn’t worth tearing my labrum to learn that.

LOL I see what you did there…Quality
