The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

So if my math is right…

I’m basically a cardio king.

I’ll be moving into my new room at the University campus dorm tomorrow. I confess that, as much as I’m excited, this is really a new experience and I’m a little afraid, not knowing what to expect.

I also think that what scares me is at the same time something good for me, as I’ve never been away from home for an extended amount of time, and it’s time to get used to that too. I’m already missing my bed…

But besides, I’ll only be staying there 4 days every week, so I should get used pretty painlessly, I hope.

It’s not a big deal.

You’ll have people who are neat freaks, people who are slobs, and everything in between. From drunk people and stoners to straight edge people.

Find people who you’re comfortable with, make some friends, go to some parties, don’t forget you’re there to study and not party (I forgot), and most of all, relax. Many people look back on college fondly.

Yeah luckily I have already made some friends in the past two months, so I’m not afraid of that.

It’s more of the “sleeping a few inches away from a complete stranger with whom you’re basically sharing your personal space” stuff that I’m not very comfortable with at the moment.

And hopefully they’ll have a decent gym too. That’s a bit of a concern too haha

That’s part of the college experience!

When my platoon was in the mountains of South Korea training outside for a month and the temperature dropped to -30 degrees, we would occasionally share SLEEPING BAGS. Ain’t no such thing as gay in the field. So unless you’re huddled together like penguins for warmth, I wouldn’t consider it a big deal either.

Some of my best nights ended with me sleeping in strange places (and I didn’t hook up with anyone). While it wasn’t my best night, I thoroughly enjoyed it when the actual occupants of a dorm woke up to find me sleeping in their bean bag chair. I snuck in through the shared bathroom.

I had a dorm room in college that was basically a storage locker because my stuff lived there but I never slept there.

I confess that, if someone says “scapula” instead of “shoulder blade”, I assume they’re trying to sell me something.

I confess that is makes me think of spatula which in turn makes me think of pancakes which in turn makes me hungry. Damn now you have me thinking about pancakes :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I confess I’ve always liked the idea of protein pancakes and held off because they’re likely to be a huge let down.

I’ll make mine with 4x the number of eggs the box recommends and then cut back on the milk added. Might be better ways to do it but I think they turn out okay.

Can always just drown them in syrup if they taste funky

Can you all stop talking about pancakes !! Hmmmmmm pancakes

My favorite kind of protein pancake is not the ready-made mixtures that you can get from say Fairing which is just a protein powder that you blend with water. The best variant I’ve come across is 2-3 eggs, 1 dl of eggwhites (100g, or 3 genuine egg whites if you are okay with tossing away yolks rather than pouring it out of a can), and 5g of ceylon cinnamon + 1 scoop of micellar casein. For added yum, banana and 100% chocolate goes a long way.

I used to make them with 1 scoop of whey+2egg whites and some 100%cocoa powder
They weren’t fluffy, but they had an amazing cakey texture- even better if the centers are a bit soft

Thats the mug cake recipe silly, not pancake. Why get a pan messy when you can just throw a mug in the microwave

Mug cakes don’t have a slightly crispy exterior

No meat :neutral_face::neutral_face::neutral_face:

Sold. I might have to try this. Maybe a few berries as well because healthy.
