Really nice seeing the exchange between Paul Carter and Greg Nuckols in here. But seriously, Paul’s attitude calling Greg a fat fuck and other commentors “tool bag” are really hurting him. But in his videos/podcasts he seems like a nice guy. So it feels like that when he’s writing he’s being like this badass no-shit mofo à la Dave Tate but really it feels forced and insults don’t feel right…

Took a vacation day from work to overhaul my whole gym set up. Damn I will be putting in more work in today compared to my job.
So much mental masturbation over a sport that only requires one to have the ability to count to 10.
Pretty sure that was the longest way to say “Just do 5/3/1” I have ever seen.
I’m all for figuring out how to optimize training to get as much out of it as you can…but sometimes I just wanna say “just lift bro” ![]()
This is generally referred to as being a two-faced pussy who changes his tune when he’s talking face to face with someone instead of their back.
I still credit Paul with shaving off some useless volume for me, but that’s where my fondness ends. It became obvious after his talks with Stu that he’s deeply insecure and a tough guy over the internet.
Skipped a lot of words in the thread but I’m glad to have seen the part that made you say this. Lol
I told y’all not to trust anybody that says deadlifts ain’t shit! ![]()
Me too! Even the next day.
You’ve been waiting for this, haven’t you…

Absolutely! ![]()
I mean this always baffled me. I always credited my back begin my best parts to deadlifts. Who besides him ever said they were garbage for back? Even his friend Meadows said that deadlifts weren’t the best for him but never denigrated them
I do think it’s has caused a bit of confusion.
First he says… deadlifts ain’t shit, stop doing them guys . And then on another thread… “This is how shit gets whacky online. I’ve never said they aren’t optimal at all…I said not for everyone.”
Wait? What?
Honestly people you need to start directly referring to the threads you’re talking about instead of speaking in riddles.
I will say it.
You need a big back for a big deadlift. This doesn’t mean the deadlift builds a big back. It’s a hip hinge. So many better back builders out there.
There was always something off with his attitude in my eyes, even when he was my coach. I thought he just didn’t like me, but apparently that’s his modus operandi.
He did gave me a lot of good advice over the years though, so that’s a shame.
I confess that I’m currently running an experiment on how much ribeye steak is necessary to recover from long distance runs. So far, the consensus is 20oz.
In addition, I confess that I’m pretty sure I’m annoying my wife with my approach to her sport…
I wish we had those here ![]()
