The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

I like his channel for it’s comedic value. He puts out some pretty funny content

I imagine it’s giving back as well. Alan helped Brian break through on the social media scene.

He lost credibility with me when he reviewed 5/3/1 on his site. Not because he didn’t like it, which I would not hold against him. But because you could tell he never actually read up on it too a extent .

I too disagreed with him on that, and his Starting Strength phase was disappointing, but otherwise I think he seems like a fiarly likeable dude. Not the most accomplished person ever, but he seems to be sincere and actually want to get good info out there. And if people like Brian like him than I imagine he must be decent.

Are you running it?

Yes, coming to week 6. The DOMS for deadlifts and squats STILL last for one week.

The only time I’ve experienced this kind of DOMS was when I was training CALVES for high volume and heavy weights…

With the previous comments being about Thrall’s opinion on 5/3/1, I totally read this out of context and was like “uh oh”. Glad I saw the next two replies. Lol

I’m not even familiar with that guy lol.

He’s got a nice Powerlifting/Strongman Gym and lots of decent YouTube content presented in a non-boring way. Lots of beginners like me learned a lot about the main lifts from his channel.

I’m gonna pass. YouTube is for watching cat videos and bums passing themselves off as political commentators doing their very best to trigger you.

Lol. I passed a few courses in college thanks to University of YouTube though. Damn math classes. Ha!

Most likely @dt79 didn’t check his neurotype first if it were compatible with Deep Water…

I never understood why some people think the majority of the fitness you tubers do their channels as some public service. I remember awhile ago a guy got hot on here when I dared to be critical of his favorite one.

The idea of hitching your wagon to some professional youtuber vs someone with some actual real credentials blows my mind. But as soon as you tell someone to read a book vs watch a 10 minute video, they check out.

It gets worse…some trainers at my uni gym are launching an app that tries to teach exercises with gifs- including oly lifts done with horrible form

Those idiots even gave a ‘brilliant deadlift tip’: keep the bar AWAY from the body

Did you buy that online or? Asking for a friend.

Yup. Flex comics. Pretty good nerdy selection.
