I count literally every set down instead of up.
On the rare occasions I do AMRAPs without having a target in my head, I genuinely forget how to count and lose track.

I can’t do that. For some reason, if I lose the count it’ll mess me up. It’s happened some times, but generally it’s hard for me to consciously stop counting.
I only do an AMRAP without a clear goal in my head once in a blue moon, like every few months. And yeah, I just flat out can’t count reps like a normal person anymore. I go 1 2 3 4 5 4 3 4 5 6 7…
Got an Uber to the gym today as I’m travelling and when the driver saw I was going to a gym he asked how much I bench pressed.
Should have rated him 0 stars for that unwarranted personal attack.
“Oh cool, you going to the gym? How much you bench?”
“Oh cool, you driving for Uber. How much money you make?”
And then sweet silence.
His number is still bigger.
I think I finally found the perfect stance ( Atleast for today). Made the wife come help me rack the bar and trace my feet. I’m not losing this bad boy ![]()

The dog seems very concerned.
He’s my workout partner. He helped me build that platform and was a little pissed I was marking it up.
as long as he doesnt do the same !!
Actually, nothing odd with that. I have two strips of tape down to mark squat width.
Luckily, I am at an age where I can say I don’t bench because of my shoulders.
But my best bench was 800lbs, which I did right at the end of a hard squat session which was right after football training. I also had zero sleep the night before because I was banging 3 supermodels all night and I was still carrying a hangover.
All this after just 6 months training and not really focussing on the bench. I thought about making it official but powerlifting is bullshit with their 1000 different feds with different rules and super arches.
Bummer! I’m sorry to hear that.
I pushed buggy as a senior and my only regret was that I didn’t get into buggy earlier, it was super fun. Given your strength you might be a decent pusher, if you want to give that a shot! It really is a lot of fun.
Fear of failure is a mother…
About to go work with my old buddy cutting trees (commercially) for the first time in a long time.
Hope I have what it takes.

Lifters need to remember that the more suited ones body is mechanical for a specific lift … the more likely that they will be able to handle more frequency and or volume on it.
I’ve read a few articles on what body types makes you more suited for squat/dead/bench. Apparently I’m built for a treadmill and buffet
. Gonna hold out a little longer before I use that as my excuse though.
My body is built for spontaneous combustion.
is that what your wife says ![]()
