The Flame-Free Confession Thread II

Agreed. Your not gonna find a guy who doesn’t care about looks. You just have to find a guy who is into the way you look. Everybody likes different things but I don’t anybody is out there madly in love to a person they think is ugly lol

I agree. But me not liking it doesn’t change the realities of the situation.

Plus, what @wanna_be said.

I don’t know, I’m just under 5’7", and I know my height, or my body composition with that as a component, has been a draw for some men. I’ve also gone out with men who found my height problematic because it made them feel short. Because this:

Is entirely accurate.

Hi, I am Chris.

Seriously tho, before I met my wife, I dated girls 5’10 or taller. I’m not trying to be Thor or the Dutch Giant with their tiny SOs.

There’s also the “legs man” thing, and leggy women generally come with some height.

But as with @wanna_be, lots of men prefer petite.

all the grocery shops in my city just decided to stop importing sweet potatoes from the US until winter. It’s going to be a long, long 5 months…

F those guys! Save the small women for manlets like me, we already have enough struggles.

I have dated a 5’11" (180cm) woman and a 5’ (152cm) woman in the past. My fiancée is 5’7 (170cm) so I guess I was just finding an average.

The Truth is out there, and it always lies (lays? @The_Myth) in the middle.

I’m 5’10, so not tall by any means. Took a 6’4 girl to my freshman homecoming. With her heels, I about cleared her shoulder. Never saw a problem with it, just had to dip her down if I was going for a kiss haha. Never understood why people get so caught up on height. Though to be fair, my wife is 5’1 on a good day, so maybe there is something to it :face_with_monocle::face_with_monocle::face_with_monocle:

Tall gals height came in handy though, full ride volleyball scholarship to Kentucky. She kicked some ass! She’s also the only ex of either of ours who was invited to the wedding, still a good family friend. We still laugh at how cringey we were as 15 year olds

my wife is 5’1 on a good day

I would not date someone taller than me as there is the chance their hand is bigger than mine. Therefore my penis will look relatively smaller in their hand compared to mine. I am not emotionally ready for that.

Now, 5’1"… there’s a ratio I can dig.

Luckily, my wife doesn’t fall into this category, but I think it’s sad that many people just let themselves go once they’re married.

“I’m married so I’m going to gain 30 lbs of fat on the first five years. I don’t have to look good for anyone.”

Uh, how about your spouse, jerk? It’s selfish and insulting to think your spouse doesn’t deserve to be married to an attractive person.

I’ve been to a few weddings and I haven’t heard a line in the vows that says “in sickness and health, in good times and bad - including looking like Java the Hut- til death do us part.”

My father said when I was in my teens or early 20’s that “You can always tell when one of the women at the office is getting a divorce, because all of a sudden she starts losing weight and does something different with her hair. Well, maybe if she’d done that stuff sooner, she wouldn’t be getting a divorce.”

I can’t disagree with him, though of course I pointed out that the same goes for men. Obviously age will have its way with all of us (ideally), but I take pride in being someone my spouse can take pride in. That said, I live in a place that prizes outdoorsiness and simplicity, so when not at work I am often in jeans and a hoodie or its seasonal equivalent. I take what @anna_5588 is saying to be that there are more important things in life than endless primping, I assume meaning that healthy and clean are good. I’m inclined to agree, though I care very much how I look. Nonetheless, it takes me 30 minutes to complete my morning routine of shower, makeup, and dressing. My workouts take longer because I value their contribution to my appearance much more than I do elaborate makeup or perfect hair.

I was out of place when I lived in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex.

I care too much about fitness to get fat. I’m talking about things like makeup and clothing.

I feel personally attacked by the direction this thread has taken.

Without gorging on alcohol and terrible food, how would one drown out the sorrow? lol

I figure if you’re on here then you aren’t one of the people I described.

And my wife doesn’t do much with makeup and that primping stuff, so I forget it even exists.

My wife’s the same height. Not a big deal. But she still likes wearing those silly 60s revival platform shoes that went out of fashion again 15 years ago.

Your situation is not what I have in mind. I am speaking of those special individuals who have ZERO training I.Q. who think that somehow pinning themselves is a smart move.
