Oh definitely not. Maybe someone else with more patience than me can, but nah.
I’m already hearing the “Weight lifting is dangerous, I don’t wanna get bulky, it’s gonna make my shoulders bigger, Ive worked out and still look the same,” comments.
Granted theres a few ladies that actually compete in sports, and I typically talk to them about stuff that we talk about here, but it’s solely PMs, because I take it they don’t wanna see stupid comments and shit just as much as I don’t.
Ah, do we make stupid comments?
I feel you sister.
Course not. You guys here are well versed, and genuinely intelligent.
I hate to bring the whole battle of the sexes up, partly maybe due to society, but typically hair care sites are mostly created and run by women. Don’t get me wrong I love all the dainty things. Hair stuff, nails, makeup, etc. But a lot of the time I see people put that in front of their actual health.
I don’t know if it’s just the way the cookie crumbles or whatever, but it’s like logic doesn’t really translate over to other aspects concerning how the folks on this one particular site think. Idk. You’re willing to spend money on hair products that in total would probably add up to over 100$, but somehow can’t find the means to get off your butt and move around?
I’m not saying they have to adopt very vigorous training routines, but you’re making a bunch of posts about health issues and the slew of medications you take, but have no intention to be more active and watch what you put into your mouth.
One time I mentioned that exercising/weight lifting has pretty beneficial effects on hair growth, and that hair growth in general is mostly controlled by metabolism, and I had to laugh at how people tried to exclude each of these elements as if they all don’t influence each other in a bit of synergistic way. After that I don’t even try to suggest stuff anymore.
Edit: it’s also a very similar thing on there, like we see here, for people to explain they have an issue, and then repeatedly shoot down suggestions.
“Have you tried this? How about that? Maybe your technique should be done like this, maybe revise how you go about doing that”, to which they reply “Yeah I’ve done that and this and that, no that doesn’t work, I tried it, doesn’t work for me.”
And I always think to myself, did they really try it? Did they stick with it? Or have they just not heard what they wanted to hear yet?” Much like how everyone here comes across new posters who do the same thing.
I just got my split ends trimmed after not doing anything with my hair for 2 years. Also bought satin pillow cases and started doing cold rinses.
The curls at the end are more noticable now and my hair feels a lot nicer, just gotta figure out the fly aways.
Lifting is cool and all but nothing beats that’s silky, shiny, flow.
I like a dry, fluffy towel. Once it is used there is a noticeable difference in towel quality that I refuse to compromise on.
Especially when your wife likes to take a shower before bed. Kills the drying process.
I never understood what this was (I may have permanent split ends lol)
I never really noticed them until I got them trimmed. My hair always had little knots at the end, didn’t curl as much as it used to, and felt kinda dry.
Getting them trimmed, not even a noticable length difference, and it feels like completely different hair. I think a lot of frizz/fly aways are split ends that got pretty far up. Probably one of the reasons you’re sposed to trim regularly
That feeling after a fresh shampoo. Ugh. Yaasss. Lol.
I have like cotton textured hair so deep conditioning is like a straight up reward for me lol
I don’t really trim splits, even though I know I get them, but my entire head of hair is like…Afro-y? So it’s not gonna ever be straight? It all just feels like fluff. And the last time I tried to brush my hair I broke the brush off in my hair. So I just do all the detangling under running water. I envy people who can comb/brush their hair in one fluid downward motion.
If I could find a salon that doesn’t cut too much hair I’d be willing to pay for a 10$ trim or whatever. But when I ask for an inch off they always wanna take half of my length.
Monistat?
Yeah. The vagina cream. Sounds gross, but most people just use a new bottle solely dedicated to their hair/scalp.
Miconozole Nitrate (not sure if I spelled it right), is the active ingredient. More or less an anti bacterial, and blood vessel dilator. Hence why it’s good for Va-Jay-Jay irritation from bacteria or what have you. Everyone will repeat how blood circulation is an important factor in hair growth (which it is). Typically Nitrates dilate blood vessels. I’m no doctor or anything, but the same effect can be achieved for someone wanting to grow their hair buy using Monistat. I don’t know if that’s effective for everyone, or how long it’ll last, or if it’s even permanent, but there’s been people who’ve seen results from it.
I’m just spectating, but I guess some lady was using Monistat on her nether regions at one point in time and noticed how much her crotch hair had grown, and was like “I wonder if this will make my head hair grow too?”
So some people will use Monistat for bacterial growth that causes scalp issues, or they’ll use it for hair growth.
I tried it once, then came to the realization that blood circulation is also increased with exercise, which I already do. That, and I started to get the gnarliest headaches. My hair didn’t really grow all that much after using it for like 3-4 weeks. Usually I get .75 inches a month, I only saw a full on inch if that, after using it. So meh. My curiosity got the better of me.

I know sounds weird. But both ingredients in Monistat and Rogaine do the exact same thing. They dilate blood vessels, and help control bacterial growth.
Ones targeted for men, the other for women, on different parts of the body.
I think I’ve said too much lol
This isn’t quite as weird as the time @samul redirected the train of the thread to talk about his trouble ejaculating but it’s not far off.
Hahaha!
But on a more serious note, do the satin pillow cases make a difference? I know they’re good for black hair - I learned this watching This is Us - but does it make a difference for white curly hair?
Do you share a towel?
Yes, me too. I don’t brush my hair at all, unless I’m pulling it into a tight ponytail, which is pretty much never now. There are tangles, but they’re easy to get through with the rare exception (have had to cut a couple out of my hair).
Hahaha, important matters must be discussed.
No but a small hot steamy room is a good way to undo any drying your towel did in the previous half day.
Haha cmon man, those were hard times. In not exactly every sense of the word though…
Ok the level of stupid I just read by a poster on another thread has sent me over the edge!
Wanna give a hint as to which thread that is?
