The Evils of Animal Protein!

A friend sent me that. I know it’s long, and long to watch for something that seems to me to be flat-out wrong. Still. There seems to be a wealth of misinformation out there propagated by the vegan/vegetarian communities. It seems that instead of being content to make the moral argument that “eating meat and eggs is murder” (apparently a loosing battle, as most people don’t buy it), they have made a decision to try and dominate the “conventional wisdom” on health and healthy eating. And with a militancy that is quite effective: I know a number of non-vegetarians who know I’m a “health-food-nut”, and assume I must be vegetarian.

Not really trying to start a veg vs. non-veg thread, but this “Doctor” in particular is going after our beloved casein as an evil, cancer causing scourge.

88 views and nothing.

I guess it’s just too long a clip to sit for.

FAIL I guess.

I am sorry, I am not entirely sure that I buy the implications the speaker eludes to in the video. I am sure there are a lot of people who eat meat who’ve lived to a ripe old age without succumbing to cancer (granted, that’s not the only condition mentioned in the video). For the record, I’m a vegetarian (Lacto-Ovo).

Evil is delicious

We should listen to this guy, just look how healthy he appears.

Can you give us bullet points? That would help, seeing as I don’t have the time to watch the whole thing, but am interested.

i’d rather live a hearty 70 years than a debilitated 85. the speaker could be broken in two by a moderate gust of wind.

Don’t know why but this is the funniest thing I’ve heard in weeks.

There’s a reason why we have sharp teeth and eyes in front like a predator. If we had flat teeth and no need for essential amino’s then I would consider. People just eat the wrong animal protein- corn fed sick cows full of vaccines.

There was a thread a while ago where a vegan in a movie clip mentioned that you’re eating the animals fears.

The entire thread was trying to figure out the DRI for dietary fear.

This is what I got:

  1. This guy is a vegan giving a talk for vegsource, a group that is all about veganism based on morality, and they think they make their case stronger by trying to get us to believe it’s healthier…

  2. Yes, just like with other cancer treatments, if you deprive the body of the nutrients it needs to grow and function (casin/protein) and/or put something toxic in it, it does help kill the cancer, and it also hurts you (but it’s worth it because you kill the cancer). So maybe if you have a big 'ol tumor, cut your protein intake while it’s getting treated to slow its growth gown.

Also, much of the “literature” they use is thirty years old.

Guy thinks people only need 10% protein. Thinks crazy weight lifters may eat up to 20% protein.

My biggest concern about stuff like this is that is could become “mainstream”, and high-protein foods could be regulated the way “transfats” are regulated.

Like I said in my initial post, people who aren’t informed/interested nutrition assume that there must be something right/healthy about a vegan diet, and will defer to these “experts”, over the exerts who actually develop amazing physiques and lead healthy lives.

I lift at a college gym, and you can almost instantly spot 90%+ of the vegan kids in there.
