The women who came in second and third place sure look happy. I can’t feel sorry for them.
When biological males compete against females, what they’re really saying is, “We’re on equal footing and I have no advantages over you. So if I win, it’s because you aren’t as disciplined or hard-working as I am.”
Either this is what they all think – that women just need to work harder – or they’re purposefully cheating. And either way it’s a slap in the face to women athletes.
Yet, women continue to participate in the charade. And by doing so they degrade themselves. Women who allow themselves to get trampled are basically saying, “You deserve to win because we’re equals.”
Continued participation is making it worse.
(Yes I understand that many young women are in a difficult spot if their career or scholarship depends on participation.)
But if all female athletes (or the parents of teen girls) could come together and just pull out of the competition until the rules changed, trans athletes would have no choice but compete amongst themselves.
And I believe this would change things.
There’d also be some monetary repercussions for the people putting on these events when they lose participation and audience fees.
At one point I cared a lot about this topic and worried for women. But then I realized how many are bending over backward to protect the feelings of men in dresses.
Yeah - he clearly wouldn’t have a higher power output due to his significantly larger/longer legs…
I think most women underestimate the male drive to win…even if that means bending the rules (bending because in this case it’s not actually breaking the rules of the specific competition)
This is the significance of Title IX that most of you have no first hand observation.
From 1954 through 1970 I never attended a school that had competitive women’s sports.
There was no women’s tennis, basketball, soccer, swimming, softball. There were no women with sports scholarships attending college where I went, nor anywhere else in the conference (that I know of).
After hearing how they speak on the subject, I would say they feel like they deserve it. That’s why no argument in the world will ever change their minds. What’s fair is irrelevant when it’s about entitlement.
They might not think of that specifically but they do acknowledge that males are competitive by nature, and of course that’s toxic masculinity, which is why schools are working on deemphasizing competition, for example how they are changing how grades work, in the name of equity. Competitiveness is even considered a form of white supremacy.
Let me give the trans woman the benefit of the doubt.
Women are welcoming you (trannies) in (by their silence if nothing else.) How about a little consideration and not spit in their faces by invading their sports with your biological advantage?
Are they willfully taking advantage of their biological advantage or just plain stupid (and need to be educated.)
I’m not sure I understand this headline, the ‘towers over 2nd/3rd’ part. Are they also going to acknowledge that second place towers over third place, because that’s how podiums work?
I mean, I don’t agree with trans-folk competing in womens’ divisions of anything. But what a ridiculous fucking headline.
This brings up another compounding issue: Some team-sport female athletes think it’s unfair, but as long as the male is helping THEM win, they like it or at least stay silent.
I recall a story of a women’s junior college basketball team. Some of the girls on the same team with a biological male thought it was unfair. After all, who always got the ball? Probably the 6’4" 220 pound gal.
They said anonymously that the coach loved it because (surprise) they were winning more games. The coach probably doesn’t buy into trans ideology, but he sure likes winning.
I think we all are. Men have to step up too. Time to put our money where our mouth is and stop competing in or supporting organizations where this stuff allowed. Do we value truth or participating in a sport?
Now, I don’t believe it would ever happen. Most people don’t care as long as it doesn’t directly effect them.
the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
