No. They just don’t care about how other people feel.
I can see that. The “screaming” 5% praise their “cheating.” Be careful how we protest. So, for the most part they are validated by our conformance or silence.
Topics like this make me think of how we are overdue for a serious war. We’ve managed to make life so easy men are pretending to be women. Our problems are insignificant. Hard times are coming, and when they arrive all this nonsense will magically not matter anymore.
If you ever find yourself thinking “hmm, maybe the deaths of millions of innocents will end this social issue that - at worst - affects me in an incredibly marginal way,” maybe stop doing that.
You can look into how this might affect him and others more than marginally and even if it were him or someone marginally affected individually, why they would care for those more than marginally affected and about a national precedent.
There’s plenty of information out there to see how. And one can just use plain old logic and observation.
If there is one thing Covid taught me it is that not only do people not give two shits about the death of millions of people- it actually infuriates them, like all the dead people are a hoax or just faking it.
You’re gonna have to find a different button to push than millions dead. Sorry man. Maybe try billions?
Whoa.
I think you nailed it.
And when I was in college (early 2000s) I knew a girl that that got a partial scholarship for bowling when she had trouble breaking 100 in a game…
Just saw this and didn’t know where else to put it, but had to share. This person’s pronouns are Bee/Beeself and it does not appear to be satire. What…?
As much as I go WTF at this kind of stuff it took my wife to teach me some compassion on this topic.
Treat this person as mentally ill (because they are) and treat them the same way you would treat your grandma with dementia. I.e. if grandma said she had turkey for lunch but you knew she had ham, you wouldn’t correct her you would just say “Okay grandma, I am glad you enjoyed your lunch”. If I met this person in real life, I would be respectful and hope they can get well. Every logic bone in my body says its nonsense, but I want to be kind to people. Trans-species is way different than transgender.
So, as much as my mind rages against this bull crap, I look at this as an ill person who needs help (via therapy) and try to base my actions around that.
Is it weird that this is now considered acceptable, even celebrated behavior? Yeah, definitely and we (as a culture) should not be applauding it or encouraging. We should be encouraging this person to get the professional help they desperately need.
He’s not wishing for that; he’s saying it’s coming. Life doesn’t tend to be so easy that men can play women, for very long.
Exactly.
Concerning this thread I would suppose the trans women would choose feminine pronouns to be theirs. At least if pressed on the issue, wouldn’t have to say they were women.
BTW, this personal pronoun issue is absolutely ridiculous, IMO. My personal pronouns are the same as they have been since I learned to speak English. My pronouns are I, me, my, and mine.
It’s not Babylon Bee?
Regardless, I also want bee to be my pronoun now.
Generally, I just ignore people like this. I was just reading through comments about a video game that bombed by a DEI group that was consulted on the project and saw it.
The only issue I have with the grandma analogy is that people like Beeself want to and do drive cultural and legal changes in the direction of their insanity. This thread provides a good example of that.
Therein lies the problem, if it is mental health…society is making it acceptable, just like drug addiction, homelessness and crime
“Nick, this is a result of the deinstitutionalization of mental health in this country.”
-a hell of a guy I used to work with who has retired
Right now pronouns are optional in our email at work, but if they ever make them mandatory I might use beeself just to see what happens.
To be fair, state facilities were chemically castrating people in mental institutions for years… They weren’t the best idea we’ve ever come up with.
*good idea poor execution I should say
That’s my issue too. We don’t need to “normalize” everything. It’s the same as the fat acceptance community trying to “normalize” obesity.
And in spirit of this thread I think we can all agree to separate trans-species with transgender.
My question is, how do these folks get hired for a job/what do they do for a living?
If one such as Bee above came to a hiring interview and introduced themselves that way, The immediate reaction of 999/1000 hiring managers would be that this person is likely mentally unstable and I should not hire them.
