That’s their problem…and why no mandated low interest rate is needed.
100% this.
My interest rate is 0.00%.
And attention seeking. The worse thing that could happen to a queer person is not walking into a room and getting called a name, but walking into a room and going unnoticed.
This is the last thing people who claim to reclaim slurs want. If they strip the word of its power they strip themselves of the power to call others bigots and racists when they get called those words.
Same. On everything I own at this time.
Best part of that clip was when he told those kids to go to school.
Here’s an interesting thought experiment.
Would society be better or worse off if the headline were to shame, rather than celebrate, this sort of behavior by men?
Male skier Wren Pyle, who believes he is a woman, brought shame to the LBGTQ community by bullying his way into a women’s ski competition. Nobody was surprised when he was better at skiing than the women. Pictured below are the medals he stole from women who worked much harder than he did to compete at this level.
Doubt it would make a difference. Everyone knows it’s not fair some people just can’t admit it.
Worse off, because we wouldn’t be Believing The Science. The Science is clear: the only differences between men and women are the appearance of the genitals, and the genital appearance with which the genital owner chooses to identify.
I would add that Pyle spit in the face of Title IX.
YES!
At least there is an opportunity to resurrect journalism a little. Truth in journalism.
I believe shame should be reintroduced for several activities, although many people believe we should literally do nothing about bad behavior. That’s even been expressed on this board, in addition to the question of whether we should judge others on past, routine misconduct.
So we shouldn’t judge (“Who are you to judge?,” “Who am I to judge?”) nor should we shame (“shaming doesn’t work bro.”)
So we should be clowns and perpetual children.
It would be a lot more fun! It might even make more money if readers are interested in subscribing to stories where the writers don’t pussyfoot around the truth.
What you might find interesting is the Twitter account that shared the story. They’re actually fighting for female-protected spaces and sports. But they try to present each story as objectively as possible to win over the side that still thinks it’s fair for make-believe women to clobber real women in sports.
They revealed a video of a trans athlete recently, who stated that women powerlifters are “so bad” at bench press. How rich. A biological man telling women that they suck.
My question: are women who continue to participate against biological males complicit in the charade? By playing along, are they helping the emperor show off his new clothes?
To continue. The notion that shame doesn’t work is a bunch of bullshit.
I was rightfully shamed a few times in my youth, and I highly doubt I am the one lone person ever to live that it worked on.
I’ll never forget when I did something pretty bad at seventeen years old, 26 years ago, and was shamed for a good chunk of an evening. My mother and grandfather scolded the shit out of me, with some of that going on while eating dinner and them two sitting on either side of me. I knew I was wrong. I was totally worn down by the end of the evening and never repeated what I did again.
I’m supposed to believe I’m the lone specimen this ever worked on or that people in the past continued to shame people over millennium with no result.
Yes. But, IMO, by nature, women have more compassion for those “less fortunate”.
By not confronting the problem, is easily perceived as condoning their participation. Silence will be perceived as support. And here we are. Thus: “Most all women support the participation of trans women in women’s sports.”
Title IX has lost its teeth.
Yes.
What a trash lifter! Just when you think you’ve seen the least self-aware person ever, someone like this comes along, a clearly sub-mediocre lifter seriously pondering why women can’t bench very much. I’m patiently waiting for his next video where he wonders why other women don’t have nearly as big of a crotch bulge as he does.
When ignorance joins forces with confidence bad outcomes will follow. This notion explains a lot of the problems we have today.
