The End of the Beginning

And I want to do treadmill hill sprints. It’s one of those things I just gotta do and find out how it affects my knees.
Of course warming up properly first!!! and stretching/rolling after…(the part I am lazy about)

What is classified a hill and a ‘sprint,’ for a beginner?? Something challenging like a 10% incline at a 7 for 15seconds?

OMG!!! You are BEAUTIFUL!!!

And you know I love sailors! But you’re my #1 favorite sailor of all time! and you can read that any way you like wink

Also, great info on knee stuff - so thanks for all of that. I go in and out of knee pain, so all of that info is good for me too.

As far as your training, you gotta do what works best for you - sounds like your figuring it out! Keep at it, mama!

That top photo is gorgeous!

Nothing wrong with total body training. If it works for you, stick with it until you stop making the progress you like.

TIme flies!!
I’ve had to ‘grow up,’ while being a young wifey/mommy.
I gotpregnant when I was 21!(surprise.)
But now that the kids are getting older the spontaneity is coming back.

Anywho I like what I like to do in the gym.
I like to mix it up and I enjoy the freedom of the days in between. I could go back to the gym if I wanted for a class or go outside on a hike!

You are absolutely beautiful. LOVE the glamour shot the most. Cheezy? DOAN CARE!

What do you mean split? I’m still not sure I’m following what you are saying you’re gonna be doing? How many days will you be lifting? Three? Four? Halp!

Late to the party. But here. Double fisted trying to catch up.

I don’t have any good training advice. I’m not good at programming! Terrible, in fact.

But, gosh it’s great to come in here and read about you going to a responsive and proactive doc. So happy about that!

Betty, I started with walking at 3 mph and 0% incline so I could figure out the “jumping on and off” thing, then I increased the speed each 15-20 second sprint interval and I was at 5 mph at the end of the first day. I kept doing this until I couldn’t move my legs any faster (10 mph) and then increased the incline to 1%. This combo makes my lie on the floor gasping like a gutted fish afterward. I would probably die after 7 mph at 10% for six 15 second sprint intervals.

Just work up until you are at the limit of what you can accomplish in 6 - 12 sprint intervals without actually puking.
I’ll be following with interest!

This is my song from the hubby from back in the day.
Exactly like that.

Thanks. Wasn’t trying to show off my “beauty,” just reminiscing and felt like sharing

Hall- by “split,” I think I mean like a traditional bb’ing routine.

Masch- thank you for gracing me with your presence. Now quit running off!!!
chases Maschy, takes her down and tickles her 0_0

Nadia- yes, thank you. I’m feeling FREEEEE…even though I gotta pay and had to physically and mentally “pay,” for it for years and years…but worth every penny.

Tex- Spanks!!

Spock- thems were my glory days.

CAL! Spanks you too.

Arachne- I think I get what your saying…but your doing regular sprints, right?? I want to do JUST Hill sprints.

Training:

Took dog out for walk then did a bunch of stretching stuff for the lower back when I got home:
supermans
cobras
Bird dogs
Then went to the gym.

Chesticles/Back:

50 pull aparts
Straight Arm PDs for warm up
2x15

-Wide grip pull ups- 3x6- tippy toe/ -88lbs resistance
superset

  • Standing Cable Press- 3x12

Close grip PD- 4x10x70,80,80,80
superset
Incline Bench- 4x10x75

1 arm row- 3x12x40
superset
Dips- 3x12- elbows out to hit chest- 88lbs asst.

Tbar row- 4x8
superset
Push ups- 4x8

Seated lat raise- 2x20

Windmills- 3x8

I think I have it figured out

I’m going to do a ULU split…in between days will be cardio/rehabby glute/hip stuff

On training days, I want to do sprints after. Eventually adding in cardio at night.

Does this sound good Hall?? I’m ready to GO CRAY CRAY!!! :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s March. I’m feeling good with ‘Spring in my step,’ and Summer will soon be here and I want this winter flubber gone already. Well, I’ve had it longer than 1 single Winter. It just needs to go away already.

Or shall I do Intervals at night instead?? Thoughts?
Second opportunity to blast more cals as well. When I’m done lifting last thing I wanna do is hang out in the gym some more.

On non weight days I am going to do ss in the morning and MORE ss at night as I progress. But maybe I won’t need it.

Don’t run before you walk… no need to train/cardio 10 times a week right off the bat. I do prowler pushes and hill sprints directly after leg sessions. Steady State can be done whenever, though I wouldn’t do it prior to lifting legs on leg day… pretty much any other time is fine. I do mine after upper body workouts (on the rare occasion I actually follow through with it).

Like this -
Mon - upper/SSC
Tues - squats/prowler
Wed - off
Thurs - upper/SSC
Fri - deads/hill sprints

I like to get everything done while I’m there and not have to make 8 trips to the gym/hill. Plus I have at least a full day off after lifting heavy/sprinting before my leggies do any work again.

Just one example, many ways to skin a cat… no need to overthink it.

sorry i’m late to the party… damn girl you ARE beautiful!! spring already? guess so since yesterday was the first day of autumn (aka: fall) in this part of the world. wowsers.

Love the pics!!

SJ-
Thanks for your thoughts.
I don’t have a squat or a DL day. And no prowler.
I am aggressively trying to strengthen stuffs related to my knees instead of loading up on pain meds daily like the Dr wants me to.
There is also an issue with my back/neck that I am trying to sort out, so full on DLs are out for now.
My schedule is flexible and I just meant that I am willing to train/cardio my ass off(literally!) and do whatever it takes to get this over with.

It’s only been 11 years  <—frustrated face

Alexus- Thanks!! Well, it’s almost Spring anyway…and it’s been a wildly warm Winter! Which is fine by me cause I don’t like the cold.

KBgal- Hey thanks for stopping by!! ya, was feeling share-y that day with the pics

Late to the party. Hi Betty!

I love the glamour shots
