I know a few people on this site recommended the book “The Edge Effect” by Eric Braverman. I just picked it up recently and am a little confused; maybe someone who’s read it can help me out.
I took the tests yesterday, where you add up all your scores at the end and it tells you what “type” of dominance you have. The unfortunate thing is, I was DAMN near even on all four scores! My dopamine score was 26, acytlecholine was 27, GABA was 27 and seretonin was 25!
According to the book, that would make me acetylcholine dominant, since that takes precedence over GABA, but in reading the descriptions of symptoms, personality types, etc., a lot of what’s described in ALL FOUR types fits me. Especially those two (acetylcholine and GABA).
In the tests for deficiencies, however, GABA was by far where I was most deficient, with a score of 15. I had a 7 for acetylcholine and 4’s for both dopamine and seratonin.
So if I’m technically acetylcholine dominant (albeit by a slim margin) but deficient in GABA, am I supposed to follow the suggestions listed in the following chapter for those who are GABA dominant or for those who are acetylcholine dominant? In other words, if I’m trying to correct a deficiency (which is not in my dominant “type”), do I follow the diet/supplement advice outline for GABA-dominant people or for my own type, which is acetylcholine-dominant?
Thanks in advance.
