Did anybody notice the bodyweight drop? I did. I cut out milk and peanut butter over the last week.
I’m sorry I saw this and couldn’t help but comment. I definitly LOL’d but no worries, im laughing with you not at you because I’ve been in that situation.
Keep the progress going, nice work on the scale numbers going down and the log numbers going up.

Been there, done that. Twice. I just keep going. As long as my gym shorts don’t rip, I’m good.
Good work, man!! Keep it up!

Hey, no problem. I thought it was funny as well. Actually, I was bummed. They were one of my favorite pairs. Fairly new too.

Still working out, don’t worry. ![]()
I just haven’t had much time to keep up with my log - the whole life getting busy thing. I also said ‘fuck it’ and went to my 4-day split, as I am increasingly unhappy with my overall appearance. I might post up a new log, but I want to work the kinks out of my program first. So far so good, though.
Happy lifting!
I’m back. Sort of. I haven’t worked out in 3 weeks because of a combination of long work hours and, just recently, strep throat. Good times. Hope to get rolling again real soon. I feel as strong as a marshmallow.
Today’s Training
bench
3x5x185
2x5x155
back squat
5x5x205
inverted row
3x5xbw
push-ups
1x15,8,4
bw = 235
Well, its been a long time but I’m back. I took a little hiatus, 7 weeks to be exact.
I really cannot believe how week I am. I am coming off of being sick for the last several weeks, but still.
Don’t worry the strength will come back.
I know from experience that it must feel like you have catching up to do, but just break yourself back in nice and steady so you don’t pick up any injuries.
Good to see you back.

Thanks. I definitely had my ego checked at the door. Its also interesting how the mind-muscle connection gets lost. Maybe not. I’m also forcing my intensity - before I could just flip the mental switch and go to town.

welcome back
do you think you overtrained on CP and it affected you getting sick?

why thank you.
No, but only because I was sick recently. I was feeling really good the whole time. I made it to week 5 or 6, don’t really remember. It is hard to say if I was on the verge of over training - I was still hitting all my lifts hard.
I should also add that my wife and I recently became members of Fitness 19. Not a bad gym. Less free weights then I would like, but still some hardcore lifters. We pay $35/month for both of us and child care for three.

I asked because I came over with something terrible while on c-p, It passed quickly but I was bedridden for a day or two.
and I never get sick.

Solid workout. I ended up changing the set/rep scheme on the presses. Actually, I only planned on doing three sets but added two more sets because I was feeling good.
The front squats felt good, even though I had just squatted yesterday. Went nice and deep
I really wasn’t sure of what I could do with deadlift. In my mind I was shooting for 5x275. I might have been able to get 5x315 but my grip was starting to weaken.
Grip. That’s another thing I’ve really lost during my time off.

like the ghost from Christmas past …
I had a long vacation from training, 7 weeks. I’m in my second week back of consistent lifting. My strength is low but rebounding. What’s your story?
bench press
5x5x185
back squat
5x205
5x225
5x235

No, I did not gain 20 lbs in two days. Although my appetite has increased this week. One of the scales is off - I think its at the other location. Rats. I don’t feel fat or sloppy and my belt decreased by a hole, that’s a bonus.
I think I’m going to go back to Rippetoe’s for a couple of weeks to get my strength levels up quicker. I’m just not used to the 5x5 volume. After that, I think I will give the Wendler 5/3/1 a go.
military
3x5x135

“Sometimes you got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them, know when to walk away, know when to run.”
Today I walked away. I just did not have it in me to squat or deadlift hard. My lower back was fatigued. I think I over did it slightly on Friday. Upper body felt fine.
So for Wednesday, I’m going to still go easy on squat, then hit it hard on Friday.
yesterday
bench press
3x5x205
front squat
3x3x205
barbell row
3x5x205
ring(pulley) push-ups
10,8 - very tough
20 minutes uphill walking
Well this was a good workout. I was pleasantly surprised at how well I handled the bar on bench. None of the reps were grinding.
I went light on the squats to save my back and hips for Friday.
The barbell rows were tossed in because I didn’t feel like doing the inverted rows. Same with the ring push-ups.
