What was your time?
On my last PT test? It was 13:32. I still beat the next guy buy about 15 seconds, which makes me think something was wrong with the new course they used, as in maybe it was too long. I don’t think my whole squad had a shitty day all at once.
All that squatting must be slowing you down…
But seriously, from what you say it’s more likely that the course was too long.
yeah, it’s possible. oh well. It’s about time to decide what’s important to me, and that happens to be my squat numbers, so hell with the 2 mile. I’ll just shoot to pass it, which means I have to run a 15 or 16 or something ridiculous like that.

I agree man, especially if you can’t go SF or airborne anyway for the reason you mentioned. I mean other than the pride of being the fittest in the unit, a sub 13 2 mile isn’t really going to benefit you. As long as you keep it good enough to pass and increase your squat whilst doing so then you’re golden.
Built up to 245 x 1 (PR). Now if I could only jerk that afterwards, I’d be looking good.
Deadlift:
Tried it out with 225 to see how my back felt. Noooope.
Squats:
135 x 10
175 x 10
195 x 10) x 3
175 x 10
Good Mornings: (95 x 10) x 3
GHR: BW x 10) x 3
Leg curls: 10 x 4
One drop set of leg extensions, because some cur was lollygagging on it while staring into her cell phone.
Oh, and the promotion points came out today for Sergeant. I guess the standard doubled this month out of nowhere so I’m not getting it. Fuck. This. Shit.

What’s up with your back man? That’s a fucking sick clean by the way.
I don’t know man. It’s a strange injury. I’ve never had one in exactly this location. It’s higher than my normal back pain. The other day I approached my gym’s crossfit coach (the only person on my base with any sort of fitness credentials, for whatever that’s worth) and asked him for advice. He had nothing intelligent to say. Go figure.
Thanks for the words on the clean. It has become my favorite lift over the past few months. Sometimes I feel like I want to take a year for olympic lifts only, just for the sake of getting the form down and becoming more explosive.
Day 20: Ring work. Gym was closed for Thanksgiving.
Day 19: 10 x 30/45, 5 x 60/60, 2 x 100m dash.
Day 18 (today):
Squat:
Got 295 x 3, then went failed a 315 attempt. I think I was still half asleep at this point. It didn’t occur to me until after I tried that it was a PR attempt. Decided to pull my head out of my ass for the rest of the session.
OHP:
135 x 5
155 x 3
170 x 4 (PR I think).
185 x 1) x 3
Pushups:
5 sets of 20 with pullups worked in (think I only did about 40 today, half were weighted with 30lbs.)
I did some workout earlier in the week which I forgot to record because I’m going a bit schizo with another schedule change right now. Let’s just go with what I did today:
Clean and Jerk:
135
185 x 1) x 4
205 x 1) x 3.
Close-grip speed bench:
135 x 3
185 x 3
225 x 3) x 4
Front squat (Don’t laugh):
135 x 3
185 x 3
205 x 3
225 x 2
205 x 3
Pullups/Facepulls/pushups:
12/15/20
10/15/20
8/15/20
5/15/15…then 5.
No rest in between exercises or sets. Sucked.

How far off bodyweight is that clean and jerk?
That’s bodyweight right there. I’ll take it. haha.
Bad news now.
Was snatching yesterday and something gave in the top of my left shoulder. A couple minutes later it was on fire. I took the rest of my muscle relaxers and some extra strength motrin to get me to bed. Hurts like hell today. Don’t know what I’m going to do.
Jaice wrote:
Sorry to hear about the shoulder man - are there exercises you can do without putting too much load on the shoulder?
If I lost a leg or something I’d be properly fucked.
Ha. No shit man! I guess there’s always pistols…they’d certainly be easier without the weight of your other leg, but there may be balance issues also.
Good point. Think of it this way; if you became the one-legged world pistol champion, you’d be set for life. Talk show invitations, a book deal, fitness magazines…all for the price of your leg. Hell, you’d probably be more popular with the women folk too.
