His shoulders in the rear double bicep shot are just insane. They look bigger than his ass!
Some great videos on MD of him with training advice for chest, back, and legs.
I had an old VHS copy of Blood and Guts when it first came out. Had loaned it to a buddy who moved out of state, and suddenly it was lost forever… well, I just received my copy of the NEW DOUBLE DISC Blood N Guts, with out takes from Dugdale’s video, every appearance and interview of Yates that exists (maybe?) on film, and even a photo library.
I’ve been watching every Olympia win (even got my girl to sit down as I explained the subtle nuances in each year’s version), guest posing, you name it… I believe this DVD set is going to be my best friend for the remained of my contest prep -lol. So worth the money.

I’ve been thinking about getting that, thanks for the review
Good videos, nice one. A highlight from the delts vid:
"Never done upright rows. Just a silly exercise. A silly, silly exercise. Just… why? You know? What is it? Is it a bit of biceps? A bit of a traps? A bit of delts? It’s like a nothing exercise. Upright rows and lunges… silly exercises never done them.
The “just why?” just made me spit coffee everywhere. Haha.
Ok looks like the post with links to the seminar was deleted. I guess MD links aren’t allowed.

LMAO Dorian is awesome…In that chest video he pretty much says something similar about flat bb bench press. How it’s pretty much useless for bodybuilding purposes and that low incline/decline pressing>flat bb all day. Couldn’t agree more.

Glad I bookmarked them before that happened, great videos!

Looks like he ramped up his intensity and nutrition from 85 to 95;)
I had an older issue of Muscle Mag sitting around that I finally got around to reading. Nice little writeup on Yate’s relationship with photographer Peter McGough.
Some great quotes from Yates
In response to an author telling him he’d never seen Dorian look more relaxed 48 hours prior to a contest[93 Olympia]
“You’d be relaxed if you looked like this 48 hours before a contest”
When being picked up for a photo shoot and seeing a baby seat in the car.
“Oh , so you’re shooting Shawn Ray today as well”
I just packed up my PC otherwise I’d scan some of his early photos onto here, most would be pleased to look how Dorian did 2 years into training.

Bwahahaha!
I still remember his famous Black Socks photos in 1993. The change in him between the '92 and those pictures was unbelievable.

I love it when they take funny little competitive jabs like that. In one of the other videos posted, Dorian makes a “Shawn Ray” comment as well. Did they just have fun with each other or was there something deeper there?
Shawn was always pretty disrespectful of Yates though. I remember right before the '95 Olympia, Shawn publicly said that Dorian was done, and that maybe he had a few years left to still do guest posing spots. Dorian was quoted afterward as saying how the statement fired him up, he wanted to just win and shove it in Shawn’s face. He never did though, saying just after the 95 event that he felt bad for Shawn receiving even less of a placing than he thought he deserved.

^^ And with that we can see who the bigger man was, in both ways.
Here’s something interesting Dorian said in regards to a question about overtraining:
Indeed there can be too much of a good thing with intensity techniques. I suggest going to failure on working sets using beyond failure on exercises and bodyparts you want to specialise on. Use only one technique per exercise, i.e either forced reps, extra negatives or rest pause. I suggest no more than 5/6 weeks training all out before a 2/3 week easier phase training just short of failure and week of total rest from the gym every now and then.
Hope this helps…DY
Great Dorian thread going right now (Blood and Guts Trainer):
I met Dorian at Powerhouse Gym. He had a picture of a black guy (Bob Marley) tattooed on his calf, so I think that puts the neo nazi skin head debates to rest.

Have y’all never heard of SHARPS [Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice] before? There are several different kinds of skins.
