You may be right. You and H4M are also right that this is pre-bulk. But in the previews all we see is the mask face bad guy. I can feel intense about batman because I get to see the man behind the mask. It’s hard to do this with Bane in the previews because all we get is the tense guy with a respirator. This may be Nolans plan. I mean he knows We trust his process from the first 2 movies so he does not need to WOW us with his trailers.

I’m going to wait until I hear that Bane gets fucking huge and ripped, like 280 at 3% body fat like he is in the comics or else I’m not even going to buy tickets.
It’ll be a stupid waste of time to see it otherwise…like they’re letting the queers from that Queer Eye for the Straight Guy make a Batman movie.

And Batman in the comics is at ‘peak human strength and condition’(which Bale is clearly not), but we’re not holding that over Nolan’s head.
Part of me thinks you’re joking because it’s you, but at the same time I’ve seen you get heated about comic discussions so I think you might actually be serious about this, which would be incredibly silly.

I think The Rock is a good actor independently of his wrestling career. But…Tom Hardy can project a sense of menace that is very rare. Ledger had it, too (although he only showcased it in TDK). It’s the ability to swing from one emotional extreme to another in an instant, making the moments of relative quiet very dramatic.
You need a good actor to play through the mask, plus it serves a purpose. Bane has to wear it permanently to avoid being crippled with pain. He’s ready to inflict pain on others because he knows it intimately.

My hesitancy has literally nothing to do with Bane’s lack of mass. Not really sure what it is, but the trailers are leaving me underwhelmed. I’ll still catch it on opening night though.

Despite the fact that The Rock is my favorite actor, I have to say no, this is not the role for him. He is too likeable to play a properly menacing villain.
Hardy has an intensity about him that will shine in this film. He showed that in Warrior. Bitch about his size all you want, he’s the man for this role.

Ok, I stand corrected. This looks bad to the bone. My only gripe [and It’s my fault for watching] is the trailers show TOO much. Anyway, I’m pumped like noother to see this.
