This is going to be brilliant. Really really brilliant. Although I still think Batman Begins was better than TDK (heretic I know :P)
I’m actually in the same boat. I was pretty sure I was the only one.
Disclaimer: TDK is still one of the most incredible pictures of all time. I just happened to personally like BB ever so slightly better.

Oh definitely. I think TDK is one of the best movies of the last 10 years. But BB I prefer. glad to see I’m not the only one though :D
I’m sorry, but I can’t make any sense of any of what you two are saying. Could you please explain with some detail and clarity exactly why it is you liked Batman Begins more than TDK? This isn’t quite registering in my brain.
Erm . . . uh . . . no.
I don’t watch movies with a “critic’s mind.” I don’t go into a movie expecting to walk out with a detailed analysis of character development, storyline, writing, pace, acting, etc. I go by feel. If I walked out and I liked the movie, great. If I walked out and didn’t care for the movie much, no big deal. If I walked out and liked the movie better or less than another movie, cool. I don’t feel the need to question myself as if I’ve done something wrong because I might happen to like one movie better, when most others prefer another. I watch movies to shut down and enjoy myself for a bit. It makes my life a lot more fun.
About the only thing I’ll analyze and discuss with friends and on message boards in some detail is plot (i.e. “What do you think they were trying to convey when this happened . . .;” “Will this have any bearing on the sequel . . .;” etc.).
So if you don’t think it’s possible that someone could like BB better than TDK, well . . . here I am.
EDIT: Since writing this, now you have my brain all churning, so I guess I’ll bite. However, my answer probably still won’t satisfy you, and some of the stuff is so ridiculous you’ll be laughing. But it’s all good. I am who I am. These are by no means in order of importance:
I didn’t like the “multiple vigilante ‘Batman’ wannabes” plot device.
I liked the mansion better than the underground base of operations (though I obviously understand why they couldn’t have the mansion in the second film).
I liked the backstory of him being some “punk kid” trying to find himself better than the “Am I doing the right thing?”
I liked the training scenes (call me a sucker for training montages; I grew up watching too many cheesy martial arts and Rocky movies, I guess).
I liked the overall look and feel of BB better: the rainy street and back alley scenes; Wayne getting in fights in mud pits, stealing and living on the streets a while. It just had a dirtier, grittier feel to it for me.
I liked Katie Holmes better than Maggie Gyllenhall.
So, there you go, some detail.
