Yeah. Why did they even switch from Katie Holmes in the first place?[/quote]

Seriously, Maggie made me hate the second movie.

^^ saw this today, cute.

I can’t remember what I said about Maggie Gyllenhall the last time this came up but it wasn’t nice. She’s simply ugly. I also hate her because I think she said something along the lines of “America was asking for it” after 9/11.

Yessir, that was my favorite part of the announcement.

I couldn’t be happier that there’s no 3D. For one it gives me a head ache, and two it does not work with every film! If it won’t add to the experience then why bother?

I could see Tom Hardy (rumored to be cast) as Hush. Bane would be cool too. Someone who can go toe to toe with Batman. Who could play Bane though?

A big guy who’s a good actor as well. Maybe the Rock, not the best actor but could easily have the look of a super-steroid using Gang lord.

Good question. Last guy who played him was Jeep Swenson. Claimed to be 6’4 at 405 pounds

The Rock could work very well. But it’s really “the bigger the better” with Bane.

chris nolan will only go with realistic characters. no bane, ivy, freeze etc…

Actually I heard rumors that it was going to be Riddler and the Croc…So now riddler is ruled out…can the Croc still be true?

The Killer Croc and Bane would be the most testosterone filled batman yet! Two insanely beefed up Criminals

While I agree with the overall statement, what is so different between something like a nerve gas that can make you see evil shit (Scarecrow) compared to the shit pumped into Bane or perhaps a chick who messes with pheromones and poisonous plants?

Big, smart, strong motherfucker who uses an anabolic substance without “cycling off”…

Louie Simmons?

Jeep Swenson is dead! :frowning:

I like the Rock for Bane idea. Normally I would think “there is no way this guy can pull this off” but Ledger absolutely dominated the role.

And you all who say Piggy Gylenhall or whatever her name is RUINED the movie are insane. Her part was so minimal in the film that other than the brief 2 seconds I saw her, I forgot she was in there.

I like the Rock, but he does not belong in Nolan’s Batman Universe. This isn’t some goofball, cheese dick movie super hero movie. These are serious movies that happen to be about a superhero. I wouldn’t be surprised if they re-cast the Joker for a small part [like how Scarecrow was in DK] or at least have word of his exploits peppered throughout the movie.

I also wouldn’t be surprised of Two-Face is back. Like another poster said, Nolan said Dent was dead, not Two-Face. I imagine he goes with a reasonably obscure lead villain like Black Mask and recreates a back story. No matter what happens I’m totally on board.

I think Harley is a great character for a more real version of that universe. She was originally a psychiatrist who was assigned to The Joker. His view of anarchy pulled her in like followers of a cult. She quit her job and followed him.

That shit is textbook Nolen is he writes it correctly…but doing it without Ledger…damn.

I’d expect Nolan would have her as Joker’s assigned psychiatrist(seeing as he’s in the slammer at the mo’) and is doing his bidding from the outside or some shit like that.
Would love to see her make an appearance though, preferably the way she was portrayed in the Arkham Asylum videogame.

This is the exact reason I don’t think a character like Bane would work too well. Nolan’s version of Batman is too realistic. It’d be hard to pull off a 10’ tall 500lb solid muscle wrecking machine. So far he’s done an amazing job of blending elements of the comic subtley into the movies. For instance, I was watching the first one the other day and Crane mentions in passing that Zsaz has killed someone else in Arkham. Morgan Freeman made the “It’ll stop cats” comment in the second. I’m sure there’s a fairly subtle hint somewhere in there that hints at who’s up next that we’re [or at least I’m] missing.

The plan was a sequel with Ledger, too bad would’ve been good. Still there is black mask, hush, catman, etc…

Hush was one of the best batman graphic novels I have ever read. I agree with the others who say Hush would play well in the crazy-paranoid Nolan bat-verse.

I think a cool tie in to the future batman/superman movies would be for him to make some reference to superman like he does in frank millers “all star batman and robin”, “that clown in metropolis” “he does not even know he can fly” “thats right Kent, I know who you are and you have no idea who I am” etc. Also, it would be cool to see the kryptonite ring he has tucked away for a “just in case” scenario.
