That might be the most redundant question ever.

Had they not made previous Batman movies with butt-cheeks and nippels?

Then yes my firend. There will me more
I honestly wouldn’t want another chapter in the Batman saga. Why? No more Joker, and the way they ended left the audience with mystery on their minds. If they do make another one, I honestly think they will ruin this one.

I am assuming you know the goal was for neither to be saved? I agree with much of what you wrote, but I thought both this “decision” and the one he left up to the people on the boat were both to prove that people were willing to let others die to save their own asses or those of their own loved ones.

If I’m not mistaken police tried to make it to both locations but were too slow. I suspect the Joker knew how to time it. He waited long enough to give them the locations where only Batman would be able to make it in time to save one of them and he intentionally lead him to Dent because he knew Rachael’s death would turn him.
SPOILER!

I read on wikipedia that the joker had told them the wrong addresses on purpose. Meaning batman thought he was going to where rachael was, but the joker knew that he sent him to Dent.

I think he just figured out that whoever batman was, he was in love with Rachael, and knowing that he would save Harvey just ensured that Rachael’s death would mess both of them up.

Also, Has anyone else ever heard of “Game Theory”, AKA “The Prisoners Dilemma” ?? I thought that was so cool that they incorporated that idea into the movie via the ferries.

Is there a certain arch or book that these movies are following? Or is it just a compilation of the last 40+ years of comics?

I think that it’s just sort of loosely following the comics, but I’m in no way a comic book expert.

Something that I’ve been really impressed with are the questions that are being posed days after people have seen it. Most comic adaptations don’t have that sort of “second” questioning mentality; what you see is what you get. This movie had a lot of implications, and only a few answers.

I keep getting bugged at work by people if I think Harvey Dent is actually dead… any thoughts? I think he is…
Yes, Alfred said something at the end talking about his death.

Did you really have to read Wikipedia to get that?

I’m not trying to be a jack ass, but people needed to listen to what was being said. When the joker told the the address to Batman where Harvey supposedly was, Harvey used the same address to explain where Rachel died.

Not necessarily. Like someone else said, the Riddler could effectively be done on the level that Saw was played (obviously something in its own light) but if the actor was good enough, they could squeeze out at least one more.

And death. Balance it out. I have a hard time grasping that Batman would be willing to let so many people die. One example (there are others) is the hospital thing. Let the rat go, save a hospital.

They evacuated the hospital.

Did Joker know Batman’s secret identity? I vaguely remember him mentioning the way Batman “jumped” after Rachael or something like that. Is that referencing the suite scene? And how the hell did both of them survive that fall anyway?

The actress that played Rachael Dawes was spot on though I didn’t really find her all that attractive. Why did they get rid of the woman from Dawson’s Creek, i.e. Tom Cruise’s wife?
What was well played was the Joker’s protection of Batman’s identity. Overall, the entire story around the Joker should earn some writers a few awards.

As far as Rachael, I think I missed half of the movie because the couple next to us wouldn’t shut up every time she was on screen.

“Oh, she’s horrible!! Don’t you think she’s ugly, Sweety!!?”

“Oh, yes, that face…EWWWWWWW!!!”

After every fucking scene.

This is why I quit going to movies to begin with.

I think Jim Carrey is still free…

Honestly it’s pretty obvious these guy know what they are doing and I would trust that they make a 3rd and it would be just as good as the first two. It is very, very unfortunate that Ledger passed after this movie was made and it would have been great to see him in a 3rd, but I think these guys could pull off a 3rd.

I was ready to wait in line for number 3 after the conclusion of this one. I cant wait to see the 3rd if they do it.

What were the animated titles you guys were referring to earlier? Sounds like they are worth getting.

Gotham Knight - Animated.

The level of story telling is great, especially since you may not catch that the stories are actually related in some way until after seeing all of them. Six different animation styles, but the actors did the same character voices in all of them.

I didnt get that Joker knew batmans Identity… Only that he knew he loved Rachel, but maybe that was enough to find out it was Bruce. He seemed intent on finding out who he was, but maybe that was just a front. I havent read many of the comics, so if this is understood I’ll shut up.

EVERYONE is baggine on Mally Gyllenhall for being ugly… I didnt think she did a bad job, nor do I think she ugly. I’ve never heard so much negative talk amongst all my friends on an issue like that. Me think they doth pretest too much??

The Joker didn’t know who he was…but when the other guy (the analyst who was going to the press to tell them it was Bruce) went to the media, he is the one who put the threat on his life so he would shut up.

The Joker liked the game he was playing. He thought that he and Batman were meant to play that role forever. I doubt he cared who Batman was by the end of the movie.

I think in the comics he captures batman, and one of his minions asks if he should take off his mask to reveal his face. He says something like ‘that is his face’ so its obvious he didn’t want to know who he was.

It’s been 6 pages. Someone had to think the movie sucked.

We can squeeze at least another 5 pages out of this if they just come forward now.

At this point…I don’t think anyone will really care if someone thought it sucked ass…because we know otherwise.

Yeah just like all the movie critics that gave it bad reviews. But thats why they’re critics and attention whores…I wish I could get a paycheck for my dumbass opinions from time to time…lol.

I wanted to drive down to Austin to slap the shit out off the critic for Austin Chronicle after reading his review…but damn…The Dark Knight is the shit.

Alright I didnt have time to read all the posts but heres my two cents. IT was AWESOME. I thought the joker was the best villain I had every seen. Heath Ledger played that character unbelievably. Christian Bale was much better in this one than the first one. Great Movie. THe only thing I could see wrong with it, was at times I was a little confused, but that is probably my fault. Anyways Awesome movie the joker is the best villain I have every seen.

Now this I agree with. It was WAY too forced which made it distracting. I do understand that this is exactly how he played it in the first movie…and I did keep thinking about how easily his voice could be matched if they have the technology shown with the cell phones…but no doubt, you aren’t alone on that one.

Yeah…I was like annoyed by that also…but as soon as it started to register in my mind…I would get absorbed back into the movie.

But it was weird as to why he was talking in that voice in the the “cell sonar” scene with just him and Lucius Fox…WTF?

One other thing… when batman drops maroni (erick robetrs) from the fire escape it looked like he at least broke a leg but later on he’s seen walking around like nothing happend.
