I think I could have pushed the squats even further, but am very pleased with 85 kg, on my trial week I did 80 kg and it was way harder than 85 today.
I like my kind of strongman stuff as part of the giant set.

Mort, you’re supposed to cut in the late winter/spring so you look hot for the summer. During the summer you live it up shirtless and try to maintain some sort of leanness. Once fall rolls around you might as well drift into bulking mode for the winter.
I’m kind of doing it backwards and I bulked for the summer so I look a little soft shirtless. Fortunately, the average person is so utterly pathetic that I still look good!

Stupid scale, I lost about 1 kg and was eating a lot yesterday with wine and peanuts.
How tall are you? (I’m sure you mentioned it before but my memory isn’t great!). You mentioned trying to stay lean for summer. I was thinking you (like me) could probably do with gaining some weight!
182 cm just a tad under 6 feet, I would love to gain weight
But unfortunately weight tends to sit around the waist, about 2 years ago I was 89 kg over a year I got down to 75 kg and kept that weight for about 6 month started gaining a bit June 2017 and here I am at 81-82 kg.
I would say some of the weights on the quads (yeah) and the back (yeah) and the belly (ohh) but I’m happy. Gaining a bit of weight over time.
Through this Darkhorse experiment I’ll eat to maybe gain a little weight. During the next 1½ month I’ll have to much wine, beer and whiskey, to much BBQ, to much snack and candy.
The workouts are unfortunately going to be a bit inconsistent, There might be a deloadish 3 - 5 days here and there. Not the best way to do a new program.

Hey mort since you are trying to gain weight and you don’t like the fat going to bad places, wouldn’t you want to eat lots of good food rather then bad food to limit the fat gain? Of course you’ll gain fat but i feel like if you eat lots of candy, snacks and alcohol etc and the like it will reflect on your physique in a way you don’t want it to.
