Well, glad the joint didn’t get infected and it wasn’t compartment syndrome either. Those would be a total nightmare!
Great update, particularly the spiritual part! That will do amazing things for your spiritual walk with God and your relationship with your wife, powerful stuff, make sure you really embed it as a life long thing.

Was whipped when I got home yesterday and the family had ordered pizza. I’d already had all my food for the day but said what the hell and had three slices. Oh well it was delicious
Today’s a rest and pt day. I’m working more on lateral motions and squatting without a sled or stability assistance from a countertop or the like. Hers a snipet of the routine I was doing this morning with the speed ladder and a 6lb medicine ball. This afternoon will be 10 minutes on the hack squat with 1 plate and 1inutes on the bike.
3.5 weeks out from surgery and feeling like I’m making pretty good progress.
Looks like you have a cyborg leg.
My wife baked a store bought pizza for the kids. I had lunch at like 1:30 and two protein bars from then til 8pm when I got home from work. There were four medium-ish sized slices of pizza on the counter (half the pizza) and I grabbed two at a time and crushed them. I have no regrets.
Don’t know how the time frame of progress for your injury usually is, but looking good there jack!
I’m pushing the pace a bit but ultimately they said let the pain govern your PT. Push it but not to the point of extreme pain. I’m not supposed to do any direct patellar tendon work for at least 6 weeks. But really that falls under the extreme pain restriction too. If I accidentally engage the tendon it’s like fire!
That’s a good guide. No more leg extension machines lol
Pistol squats to failure on the bad leg 2x an hour for every hour you’re awake, and any time you’re not pistol squatting you’re attempting to recreate the flip you were going for on that giant trampoline

Haha. They actually have me do pistols on the total gym. The resistance is super low but they are horrible. The one leg glute bridges are new this week as well. Both are super hard. Can’t wait to get back on that trampoline though!
Brave man! Isn’t that a crazy amount of force on the joints? I’d be worried to ever do that again. But at the same time, I do admire people going right back and attacking what attacked them, so good on you.
I just miss it. Seeing all my athletes having fun. I’ll get there

My wife and I had date night last night which is always fun. Had some steak fajitas and a couple of margaritas. Overall a really nice night.
Knee rehab. I’m to the point now where my pain is pretty minimal throughout the day, but nights a whole other story. I have been waking up at like 1-2 and the damn thing is just throbbing. It’s making for some long nights. Not really sure why this would be but I’m ready for it to stop. Maybe I should dial it back a notch in the PT department. I’ll ask the therapist about it on Friday.
Training:
Shoulders
Standing OHP
Seated OHP
Seated neutral grip OHP
Plate raises
Front delt raises
Reverse flys
Rear delt cables
Lateral raises
Lateral partials
6 way delt finisher.
Should be a good session. I have a buddy coming to train today. He’s a monster so hopefully I can keep up lol
Are you taking any pain meds? My knee pain was my most painful by far, and I’m pretty sure I was taking pain meds to sleep. That was the last bit of pain med use for me, but it’s worth it if it lets you rest.
Just ibuprophin as needed. Yeah a full night sleep sounds amazing. Ready for the throbbing to subside. I don’t like taking a lot of pain meds but right now it’s just unavoidable if I want to survive my days lol

This weekend was good… lots of work but good. I was able to get through my competition and kept pain and swelling under control. Feeling like I’m getting over the hump with this thing finally.
Getting a little bonus on my next check so… I’m gonna treat myself ((not really) and write the hospital a check for $3300. Hey at least it’ll be done and over lol.
Today’s chest and triceps. Gonna do my normal routine but add drop sets to the last set of each exercise.

Calories have been all over the place as I’ve been undecided on direction to go with weight. Think I’m finally committing to a slow bulk till May or so and then tighten things up for summer a bit. Gonna go to 3000-3500 calories and not worry about the occasional cheat or dinner out. Hopefully that will have me around 180 by the beginning of May.
I know it’s not the pharma section but TRT/Blast protocol will be
400 test e
400 eq
Possibly 25 mg dbol next 4 weeks
3.3 iu HGH
Sitting here waiting for PT. Hopefully they push it hard today. Feeling motivated and ready to make some progress.
I like this. I avoided doing standing mobility work for the last few years for no good reason, even as I committed to a strategy of guard passing from standing in jiu-jitsu. I can’t help but wonder if more drills like this would have saved me the aggravation of a minor knee injury (and re-injury) last fall! Putting them back on the menu starting this week.
I’m scared for when they start me on stuff like this wothout the brace. It’s amazing how much more secure i feel in it. I mean don’t get me wrong I hate the thing but it’s definitely a bit of a security blanket lol
