Good to see you logging again mate, and glad life is starting calm down a little. Now it’s time to maximise those gainzzz ![]()
Thanks man! I haven’t been as present here in the forums as of late but will do my best to respond quickly. Learning is definitely one of the keys to success. Stay strong man
When I do a typical dumbbell OHP I feel like I hit more front delts than I should. I can’t have the back support at vertical because of shoulder flexibility limitations. This slight leaning back I believe is why it targets my rent delts. When I hold a neutral grip I feel it much more in the medial delts. Not sure if this tried and true, but seems to work for me.
Ugh, work got me again and I missed my workout on Friday. Hopefully make it up today. I was supposed to only work Friday evening but got stuck working with the concrete x ray guy all day locating the tension cables in the buildings slab. We’re installing an 80x40 ninja warrior aluminum trussing system and need to bold the pillars into the floor. What was going to be a 4 hr work day turned into a 10+.
I have a few work items to get done this morning but am determined to get out of there by noon. My daughters birthday party starts at 430, so I’ll have a bit of a window. Guess it’s shoulders today

Weight 175.2
Today’s the first day of school and first day back on a more regimented schedule. Up at 5… we’ll 5:20 after two snoozes. Coffee, Bible study, some personal time, make meals for the day, kids to school, and then work.
I’ve allocated two hours daily to train and am excited to have it worked into my schedule. Yesterday day was chest and triceps and today’s bis and back
Incline reverse dumbbell flys
Single arm dumbbell rows
Wide grip lat pulls
Underhand lat pulls
Low cable rows
Alternating dumbbell curls
Incline dumbbell curls
Isolation curls
21s with easy curl bar
Poundstone curls with bar
Nutrition will be 200p 300c 50f here for a while, so about 2500 calories. Feeling like I got a little fat over the summer and need to dial it back a bit.
Good to see you back and working hard as ever man.

Woke 174.0
Nutrition was good yesterday, work was longer than planned (what’s new), but I still managed a good workout.
I was reading in Luke this morning about putting others first. Think about what you can offer them and not what you can get out of it. That’s gonna be the focus today.
Training for this afternoon will be shoulders
Plate raises
Dumbbell ohp
Between the legs cable front felt raise
Cable lateral raises
Cable rear delt pull
Dumbbell lateral raises
Barbell ohp
Now off to work
I love this little nuggets sprinkled into your log.
Got asked to choose a scripture before prayer at a church committee meeting on the spot, no time to prepare. So I chose Job 38 (where God challenges Job and is super sarcastic). Everyone looks at me like “who let this guy in?”
Job is some hard stuff for most of us. No wonder you heard crickets LOL
My youngest is a waitress and gets treated like crap a lot, and I’ve been talking to her a lot about “Loving your neighbor as yourself” and that its the second greatest commandment.
I have a tattoo to help me let those things go.
The Lord is slow to anger but great in power. The Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.
Nahum 1:3
It also reminds me that I am accountable for my behavior.
The Old Testament God of Wrath. Love it
My real take away was how guilty I am of doing kind things in a self serving manner. I should friend the unlikeable, help the hurting, and do it because it’s the right thing to do.
You are training children to become better people thru sports. Its an honorable profession and raising 2 young girls to be good humans. Don’t beat yourself up brother
The book of Job is awesome. The last little bit just shows you how in control and powerful God is.
So… that was the toughest shoulder session I’ve done in 2-3 months. Hour and a half of just grinding through reps and sets and it was awesome.
Usually I start with the bigger compound movements but this time finished with barbell OHP. It was comical by this point. Imagine a shaking Jackolee trying to get the 8th rep with a whopping 42 lbs. pump was insane.
I did a shoulder lift I’ve never done before too. I faced away from the cable machine with the rope attachment at its lowest setting. Then I grabbed it with thumbs up and lifted it like a front delt raise through my legs. Did 3 sets like this and then 3 sets with thumbs down which hit more the medial and rear delt. Man these were great.
Felt good to finally have a kick ass session after a bit of a dry spell!
good stuff man.
Might have to try this out as an accessory!
Off topic, but how tall are you?I know I read it somewhere in your log but all be damned if I can find it now via search for “tall” or “height”.
I’m 5’9”. But wish is was 6’4” like @Frank_C
